    is an established EPC Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering company operating in the East and Central Africa region with offices in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kampala and Dar-es-Salaam.

    Job Purpose

    Responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain processes to ensure the efficient flow of materials, products, and information.

    This role involves strategic planning, supplier management, process improvement, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to drive operational excellence and meet business objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Planning and Leadership:
    Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business goals and objectives.
    Provide leadership and guidance to the supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align supply chain initiatives with overall business strategies.


    Supplier Relationship Management:
    Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
    Negotiate contracts and terms to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
    Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans as needed to ensure consistency and reliability.


    Process Optimization and Efficiency:
    Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization throughout the supply chain.
    Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
    Utilize data analytics and technology solutions to drive continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives.


    Inventory Management and Demand Planning:
    Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts.

    Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels to meet customer requirements.

    Implement demand planning processes to improve forecasting accuracy and responsiveness to changes in market demand.


    Logistics and Transportation Management:
    Coordinate transportation activities, including carrier selection, routing, and freight negotiation.
    Optimize transportation routes and modes to minimize costs and improve delivery performance.
    Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards in transportation operations.


    Risk Management and Compliance:
    Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions in supply, geopolitical issues, and regulatory changes.
    Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, including environmental, health, and safety requirements.
    Develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate the impact of potential disruptions on supply chain operations.


    Continuous Improvement and Performance Metrics:
    Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure supply chain performance and track progress against targets.
    Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
    Regularly review performance data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

    5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a lead role.

    Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve results.
    Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a track record of successful vendor relationships and cost savings.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

    Strategic mindset, with the ability to think analytically and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
    Proficiency in procurement software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
    Knowledge of procurement best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
