About Stephen Ngala:

I am a professional strategic manager, a leader and reliable administrator. Over the years have acquired adequate financial skills, strategic management skills, leadership skills and Administrative skills academically. I have over 13 years work experience in the world of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO), I have worked in different positions and in all those positions have proven to be a competent and a great achiever. Currently I am an Administrative Director and Acting Deputy Country Director in Kenya Children of Hope organization. Academically, I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Business Administration (Major-Strategic Management) and also Certified Public Accounting (CPA) Section 5.

Position:  Administration Director and Deputy Country Director

Responsibilities:

  • Managing organizational payments such as monthly, orders, income tax, pension and other deduction payments
  • Managing  Human Resources records for each employee including employment contracts, employee performance reports and annual leave forms
  • Providing guidance and leadership for organizational compliance efforts including audit preparation
  • Providing guidance to all employees for complying with the budgetary regulation of Kenya children of hope
  • Managing organizational administrative and finance team
  • Participating organizational procurement processes for goods, consulting services, negotiating contracts
  • Coordinating and implementing all administrative strategies for effective organizational operations.
  • Representing organization in its relations with partners, authorizes and different local players for financial, administrative, legal and human resources in areas of the organizational mission
  • Monitoring all staff activities according to existing organizational policies and evaluate all financial statements monthly and analyze progress and develop grants and financial contracts.
  • Collaborating with staff and evaluate all programs and activity performance and maintain competency in the organizational services to all the clients and participating in various community outreach activities.
  • Assisting in developing various alliances and partnership with all relevant agencies both government and private sectors for the organization to achieve all set objectives.
  • Administering everyday functions for the organization and coordinate the preparation of all long term strategies to achieve all the organizational goals and evaluate performance for all the programs continuously.

Position:  Operations and Administrative Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all employees understand and can perform their responsibilities in the area they are sent to work.
  • Planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating organizational annual goals.
  • Establishing, maintaining, and improving active working relationships with relevant NGOs in Kenya and government agencies in the 47 counties in Kenya for smooth operations.
  • Managing finances for the operations whilst ensuring accountability and transparency in three departments in the organization.

  • Developing and implementing effective monitoring and evaluations system for all organizational programs for accountability and effective and timely services in all communities in Kenya.

  • Planned and executed effective campaigns for children and family empowerment in the country.

  • Relating, tracing and reintegrating children from streets back to their families and ensure they go back to school
  • Conducting family assessment during reintegration and recommending the necessary project to empower the family
  • Executing family based projects such as economic empowerment projects, monitoring and evaluating the project
  • Report writing for field worker, preparing case study for children rescued from streets back to their families
  • Visiting government rehabilitation centers relate with children, trace their families and reintegrate them back to the family
