Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and strategic-minded individual to fill the role of Shipping Business Development Manager.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and driving growth in our shipping services segment.
This role presents an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future success of our company.Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the company's shipping business, including market analysis, competitor research, and identifying potential clients and partnerships.
Build & maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including shipping companies, e-commerce platforms, manufacturers, & distributors.Actively prospect & generate leads through networking, cold calling, & other sales techniques to acquire new clients & increase market share.
Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, & operations, to develop customized solutions & proposals that meet the unique needs of clients.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients, ensuring profitability and alignment with company objectives.Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product and service enhancements.
Provide regular reporting and analysis of sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities to senior management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA or equivalent qualification is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development or sales roles within the shipping, logistics, or related industry.
Proven track record of success in driving business growth, achieving sales targets, and building strong client relationships.Deep understanding of the shipping industry, including knowledge of freight forwarding, customs regulations, and supply chain logistics.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate value propositions effectively.
Strong analytical skills and business acumen, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to take initiative.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.
