    Founded in 2012, Inkomoko has worked with more than 41,000 entrepreneurs across East Africa, including thousands of refugee entrepreneurs. Inkomoko provides a combination of training, consulting, access to finance, and market-level systems change. We are the largest lender to refugee entrepreneurs in Africa.
    Inkomoko has +250 staff in 20 offices across Rwanda, Kenya, and Ethiopia, and is expanding in 2023 into South Sudan. Through Inkomoko's 2030 strategic plan, we are adding 4 additional countries to serve more than 550,000 entrepreneurs and growing our $30M loan fund.

    JOB SUMMARY

    As an Investment Reconciliation Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial transactions and records within the investment department. You will play a crucial role in reconciling various investment accounts and maintaining financial records in compliance with regulatory standards. Attention to detail, analytical skills, and financial expertise are essential for success in this role.Minimum QualificationsThe Investment Reconciliation Officer will be a trusted partner of Inkomoko clients, and basic qualifications Include:A university degree in Finance, Business Administration or another related fieldMust speak fluent English and knowledge of other local languages is a plusKnowledge of MFIs or banking operations, credit risk management, fraud management, and Debt ManagementProven experience (5+ years) in investment operations, financial reconciliation, or related roles within the financial services industry.Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.Ability to work efficiently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to investment operations.Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to process improvement.What You'll GetThis role is inside a high-growth, mission-driven social enterprise.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    Reconciliation of Investment Accounts (30% time)Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of loan accounts ensuring discrepancies are promptly identified and resolved.Verify cash balances and other transactions against internal records and external sources.Work with the investment team to resolve discrepancy between the loan management system and the accounting module.Keep records of reconciled reports and share them with the Investment ManagerEnsure loan accounts are fully reconciled against Loan Management SystemFinancial Reporting and Analysis: (30% time)Prepare a monthly report with details of loan disbursements and repayments, and monthly closing outstanding balance. Collaborate with investment managers and other stakeholders to provide insights on portfolio performance and investment strategies.Risk Management: (20% time)Monitor and report on potential risks associated with investment transactions and financial reconciliations.Implement controls and procedures to mitigate operational and financial risks.Loan Documentation Verification and Processing (20% time)Perform verification of loans documents (Contracts, Bank details, Investment Committee minutes, insurance fees) before disbursementsMaintain appropriate files of loan documents.Process clients loans disbursements and funds to investment team timely and ensure they are properly supportedPerform all other related duties as assigned to meet the deadlines.
