I am a dedicated professional with a passion for promoting access to clean and sustainable energy for both rural and urban communities. My expertise lies in the development of renewable energy and low-carbon technologies, which I believe are key to achieving Sustainable Development Goals 7, 11, and 13.
Through conducting research and providing training on renewable energy and carbon analytics, I aim to empower technicians, institutions and companies to take active steps towards a cleaner and more sustainable future. I am committed to making a positive impact in the field of clean energy and strive to promote sustainable development at every opportunity.
Experience
German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Mombasa — Technical Intern (November 2022 - To date)
- Developing Sustainable Energy Access and Climate Action Plans (SEACAP) while conducting research on relevant topics to support selected climate projects, writing and reviewing concept notes.
- Identifying, assessing and funding Urban Smart Energy projects while compiling information about CoM SSA projects including activities and their results.
- Co-creating local climate solutions through a Local Adaptation booster while facilitating knowledge exchange among the CoM SSA signatories to ensure smooth coordination with partners and external consultants.
- Supporting the project scope of the signatories, assisting project staff in preparation of field events and other logistical plans, and developing and supporting technical training.
- Contributing to the development of the Kakuma mini-grid for refugees by providing expert guidance on system design and site assessment.
Imexolutions Ltd, Nairobi — Junior Engineer (September 2022 - October 2022)
- Providing support to lead Electrical Engineers in tasks such as solar system sizing, technical design and implementation.
- Analyzing and evaluating designs of solar PV generation systems to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments.
- Overseeing the implementation of the project and reporting on progress.
- Coordinating and managing the activities of the team to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget and according to the required specifications.

Greenmount energy consultancy Ltd, Nairobi — Energy Operations Field Officer (February 2021 - September 2022)
- Providing support to lead Electrical Engineers in tasks such as solar system sizing, technical design, and implementation.
- Supporting the preparation of solar project-related BOQs and acquisition of materials by preparing the list of materials needed for a solar project, estimating the costs associated with the project, sourcing materials from suppliers, obtaining quotes, and preparing budgets for the project.
- Supporting the development and documentation of solar PV and energy management projects by planning and documenting solar power projects, researching and analyzing data to determine the feasibility of a solar project, and creating documentation to track project progress and outcomes.
Farmers Choice LTD, Kahawa West — Solar Installation Technician (June 2021 - August 2021)
- Participating in the technical installation of a 980kWp captive solar PV system at Farmers Choice Limited.
- Working with Spenomatic Limited to reduce the cost of power and offsetting grid-related carbon footprints.
Multimedia University of Kenya, Nairobi — Renewable Energy Trainee (September 2021- December, 2021)
- Participating in the technical installation and maintenance of a 5kWp demonstration solar PV system at Multimedia University of Kenya.
- Participating in the technical installation of a 2.5kWp solar PV home system at Bungoma.
- Participating in the training of ASAL County officials and Energy managers on their T1/T2 training at the institution.
Kajiado County Department of Water, Irrigation, Environment and Natural Resource and HIVOS, Kajiado — Energy Researcher (November 2019 - December 2019)
- Participating in a county energy audit (2019) for the purpose of electrification of the base of the pyramid.
- Collecting data in Kajiado West, Magadi Ward on types of energy used in cooking and lighting and the challenges they faced, the national grid accessibility in the areas, and the cost of different energy sources, installation cost of solar systems, and its challenges.
Education
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Renewable Energy and Technology which you acquired from the Multimedia University of Kenya. Its a 4-year undergraduate program that covers topics such as energy conversion technologies, energy storage systems, and sustainable energy policies. It is a specialized degree that provides students with a strong foundation in the principles and practices of renewable energy, including solar, wind, hydropower, bioenergy and geothermal energy.
