Gilbert NTABAKIRABOSE 

Is Rwandan by nationality lives in Rwanda with 345years old, 1.68m length 

Gilbert NTABAKIRABOSE  is a graduate in Environmental Management and Renewable energy in  University of Technology and Art of Byumba (UTAB). Currently I am doing my masters degree in environment studies .For the past 10 years, He has been worked in different international organizations like Peace corps as Biogas community Latrine project engineer, Public Sector as certified TVET Trainer, UN agency (UNHCR) as Energy Associate and GIZ as Renewable energy Technical Advisor and program country representantitive Rwanda- Burundi. 

He is interested in renewable energy and environmental issues (WASH)where he have conducted engineering site audits to collect and verify structural and electrical data (number of connection points, current supply situation, description of energy mix, energy consumption and load, tariff structure, equipment in use, outages and resulting electricity costs, pattern of operation) as well as other site related information like roof quality and accessibility, availability of roof (orientation and inclination) as well as ground spaces (shading) in 20 industries in Rwanda Besides energy environmental issues, he is a also a student activist in gender and sexual harassment prevention with certificates of humanitarian lead to the refugees protection provided by UNHCR learn and connect.

Gilbert NTABAKIRABOSE has hand on skills on energy and electricity activity with 13years of experience in solar and domestic electrical circuit installation

He speaks 3 languages including  English,  French at professional level and Kinyarwanda language as mother tongues.

I am interested in nature exploration like big forest animal in wildlife reserve.

Experience

  • Project Development in Rwanda (PDP) and Burundi (PDC/Get.Invest) 
    •Compiles information on renewable energy market, the energy legal framework and business opportunities in Rwanda and Burundi. 
    • Proactively builds networks within industry and identifies project opportunities and future project partners with promising ideas and development potential. 
    • Acts as a facilitator for RE and EE project development: Supports and advises stakeholders and potential partners in the process of generating, structuring and formulating project ideas and concepts. 
    • Conducts engineering site audits to collect and verify structural and electrical data (number of connection points, current supply situation, description of energy mix, energy consumption and load, tariff structure, equipment in use, outages and resulting electricity costs, pattern of operation) as well as other site related information like roof quality and accessibility, availability of roof (orientation and inclination) as well as ground spaces (shading). • Conducts regular trips to Burundi to carry out project development activities in the framework of the internal job order on behalf of Get.Invest to the project development cluster (PDC). • In cases of insufficient load data, management of load measurements or load modeling necessary for further technical and financial simulations. Must be discussed with and approved by the GIZ PDP Country Manager, Bonn (Rwanda) and by the GIZ PDP Country Manager, Berlin (Burundi). • Works closely with the PDP Country managers in Bonn (Rwanda) and Berlin (Burundi) and thirdparty consultant in the design of solar PV systems and cash-flow modeling in the commercial and industrial sector using selected simulation tools. • Works closely with local banks, auditors and regulatory authorities. • Works closely with advisors/stakeholders, i. a. country window coordinator from the Get.Invest program in Burundi and regularly coordinates the respective activitiesPresentation of results to client (local off-taker), with the goal to convince the client to opt for the proposed system. • Supports on technical and financial tender evaluation, where needed. • Manages administrative procedures within the GIZ country office, such as contracts with third parties, travel bookings, visa procedures and others. B. Coordination • Plans, coordinates and documents meetings, workshops, seminars, travels and other project activities for Rwanda and Burundi; • Organizes, prepares and implements professional information and expert workshops; • Manages and assists short-term experts / consultants assigned to projects/programmes in completing their tasks (e.g. consultancy for load measurements); • Supports in implementation of business trips organized by the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce (AHK), where necessary for German renewable energy companies to Rwanda; • Supports in implementation of Get.Invest business events in Burundi; • Compiles an overview of programme activities, deadlines etc. as discussed in team meetings and presents this regularly during the meetings. C. Implementation of project activities • Implements activities outlined in the existing PDP operation plan and to the satisfaction of PDP and the private partners; • Implements activities outlined in the internal job order on behalf of Get.Invest to PDC; • Assists in activities in line with the PDP collaborations with industry associations. D. Communication, knowledge management and monitoring • Represents PDP Rwanda in regional conferences, workshops, seminars and relevant events in collaboration with the project coordinator; • Represents the project development component of Get.Invest Burundi in national and regional conferences, seminars and relevant events in collaboration with the country manager and the Get.Invest country window coordinator; • Identifies Rwanda-specific tenders in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency, which are relevant to German companies; • Prepares PR contributions, identifies appropriate distribution channels in case of significant PDP events, and compiles articles for newsletters; • Assists with PR work for PDP Rwanda and Get.Invest Burundi • Organises and updates programme documentation in the respective data management system. • Continuously updates the PDP Rwanda’s as well as the Get.Ivest contact database • Updates information on project progress, documents and reports regularly on the PDP monitoring platform as well as to the Get.Invest country window coordinator • Assists with report writing for all project activities undertaken 
  • 18/11/2019- 30/02/2021 UNHCR Energy Associate – Contribute to the implementation of the sustainable energy programme. – Contribute to the assessment and identification of cost effective and appropriate sources of alternative energy for cooking, lighting and electricity in collaboration with all actors, including private sector, development agencies and governmental institutions. – Contribute to the design of specific projects and pilot energy for cooking, lighting and powering, including renewable energy, with a view towards enhancing self-reliance, education and protection. – Work in multi-sectoral team and contribute to the linkage of Energy with Environment, Protection, Shelter and Settlement, Public Health and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. – Contribute to the monitoring and coordination of all sustainable energy activities. – Contribute to the identification, establishment and linkage with relevant organizations to ensure access to sustainable energy for both refugees and the surrounding areas – Work in multi-functional team approach and work in close collaboration with programme and other technical experts, to ensure energy based interventions are approached from a cross-sectoral perspective. – Assist the Operation to ensure that minimum best practices are met to assure health and safety standards across all sustainable energy and energy efficient technologies. – Contribute to the documentation of the project development including monitoring, testing, trouble shooting, lessons learned and solutions applied to assure institutional knowledge development. – Contribute to the development of effective communication channels between all key stakeholders and promote the sharing of information on energy related activities

  • 2012-2013 PEACE CORPS/WORLD CONNECT :
    Project design and Construction supervisor -Design and Build 5 biogas community latrine in Gatsibo and Nyagatare -Develop funding project proposal and manage budget related to this fund. Initial women cooperative of soap making to improve hygienic and reduce illness. -Install 5Kwp solar min-grid on roof top of Nyagihanga health center. -Maintain and operate Nyahanga health center Generator -Maintain and install entire electrical installation in Nyagihanga health center and Ngarama hospital. Elaborate environment protection policies within the community living in Nyagihanga sector.

     Electrical lead technician -Supervisor and install together with 15 electrical technicians to install electricity in 500 house hold located in Ngarama Sector - distribute and install 100 Solar home system in household of Gatsibo community.
