    Description
    The U.S. Embassy to Kenya opened in 1964.

    Through sixteen Ambassadors since then, the Embassy has enriched the ties between the American and Kenyan people and served the needs of Americans in and around this East African hub.

    Duties

    Basic Function of the Position:

    Supports intensive diplomatic engagement often of a sensitive nature by the Permanent Representative, Deputy Representative, and two expert level staff.

    Daily contact with foreign delegations, the united Nations and service providers in support of US Mission goals.

    Requirements:

    EDUCATION and


    EXPERIENCE:

    Secondary School Plus seven years of professional office experience as an Executive Assistant or equivalent or other organizational experience is required.


    JOB KNOWLEDGE:
    Knowledge of basic diplomacy (how embassies and international organization interact) is required. Knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet programs, especially MS-Word and MS-Excel is required. Must be comfortable dealing with senior US officials as well as those from foreign delegations and the UN. Must also be comfortable using or learning to use various types of equipment.

    LANGUAGE:
    English level IV (Fluent) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.


    SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    Must have excellent interpersonal, administrative and organizational skills.


    Qualifications:
