    Description

    Ongoza is a Kenyan non-profit that recruits high-potential young social entrepreneurs and provides up-to-two years of highly subsidized, customized weekly business advisory, market linkages, and debt financing to scale their employment and social impact.

    Summary

    We are looking for a dynamic, focused, and self–driven Program Associate passionate about entrepreneurship to join our team.

    You will be responsible for planning and executing entrepreneur projects to improve efficiency across various business functions and drive growth.

    We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial personality and a proven capacity to achieve effective results.
    Roles and Responsibilities
    Project Execution 50%

    Support Imarisha Lead in project coordination.
    Develop and carry out entrepreneur needs assessment.
    Planning and implementing entrepreneur coaching across various business functions.
    Provide one-on-one coaching and cohort training for entrepreneurs
    Implement and execute Imarisha monthly business clinics on investor readiness.
    Supporting the facilitation of events, training, workshops, and other events for Ongoza entrepreneurs.

    Recruitment 30%

    Responsible for all entrepreneur recruitment and selection processes for business clinics, mentorship, and project onboarding.
    Establish stakeholder relationships for both backward and forward entrepreneur pipeline
    Support marketing function in entrepreneur-lead creation

    Administration 20%

    Providing and implementing recommendations that can improve the effectiveness of the Imarisha Service
    Maintaining all entrepreneur files and records and collecting data as needed for Ongoza's data and learning team.
    Providing data analysis reports through evaluating project results and Analysing business success.
    Collaborate with Finance on program budgets, procurement and requisition including tracking program expenses and reporting
    Ensure that feedback surveys are administered in a timely and customer-friendly manner

    Required skills/experience/education


    Education:
    A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Finance, or Management.
    Experience: 3+ years of relevant working experience in entrepreneurship, with a preference of having worked with high-growth businesses.

    Skills:
    Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and being able to build relationships with clients. Should be skilled in financial analysis, market research, and project management. Additionally, you should be familiar with entrepreneurship and have a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing entrepreneurs. Competence with integrated project management systems like Zoho. Exceptional ability to identify future business opportunities and mitigate risks.

    Business Knowledge:
    Should have a strong knowledge of business fundamentals, including accounting, finance, marketing, and sales.

    Should also have a good understanding of business valuation techniques and be able to assist entrepreneurs in understanding their business's worth.

    Growth mindset and an understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Kenya

    Personal qualities:

    Should have a passion for entrepreneurship, be self-motivated, have strong problem-solving skills be able to work independently as well as part of a team, be adaptable, and have a positive attitude.
