    Summary


    We are looking for a Regional Strategic Education Advisor – who will operate from our office in Kenya, Rwanda, or South Africa who will contribute to the development of VVOB's Gender Transformative Pedagogy (GTP) initiative in the Regional Facility for Teachers in Africa (RFTA) by being the key person on scaling Gender Transformative Pedagogy in different parts of Africa, starting in Kenya, Ghana and South Africa.

    Responsibilities of the Regional Strategic Education Advisor – Scaling

    As Regional Strategic Education Advisor of VVOB's Gender Transformative Pedagogy (GTP) initiative in the Regional Facility for Teachers in Africa (RFTA) you contribute to the ambition and values of VVOB by being the key person on Scaling GTP initiatives in Africa.

    You provide technical and strategic advice and guidance on this domain within VVOB and outside.

    Reporting to the Regional Technical Lead based in Kenya, you work in close collaboration with the Global and Regional Strategic Advisors and Regional Coordinator, and VVOB regional and country teams.


    You will:
    You design and develop relevant and scalable (GTP) projects in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

    You provide both short- and long-term strategic advice, information, and guidance to VVOB and VVOB's partners on scaling, in line with policy trends, new developments and the latest research and thinking in education and international development.

    You take up a variety of roles in the capacity development process according to the needs, particular situations, and phases of the programme.

    You create and manage partnerships and strong networks with relevant partners, institutions, and organizations on scaling GTP initiatives.
    You represent VVOB in relevant scaling platforms and proactively look for synergies and complementarities.

    You contribute to internal and external knowledge development and learning, by systemizing lessons learned and sharing pro-actively lessons learned between partners, colleagues and other VVOB country teams.

    You support the Strategic Communication Advisor on developing content for communication (e.g., website, video, social media...) and contribute to the dissemination of findings and results (e.g., international conferences, seminars, workshops, and other events) on scaling GTP initiatives.

    Who are you?
    Your expertise and experience

    Master's degree in education, human sciences, or related field or equivalent experience
    In depth understanding of the regional education systems and education sector; especially in regards to gender equity and gender transformative pedagogy
    Experience with developing and implementing scaling strategies for innovations in education
    Experience in organizational and institutional capacity development
    Fluent in English, French or Portuguese is an advantage
    You are authorized to work in Rwanda, Kenya or South Africa, on a local contract
