    Description

    K-Unity (formerly Kiambu Unity Finance cooperative union Ltd) is a co-operative union established under the Ministry of Co-operatives and Marketing, registered under the Co-operative Society's Act Cap 490 of the Laws of Kenya.

    Summary

    We are looking for an experienced, highly committed, and motivated professional to fill the position of Driver. The position will be on a contract basis and renewable based on achievement of set deliverables. You will provide driving services to K-Unity staff and board members.

    Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
    Driving the Sacco's vehicles to destinations as authorized by the Management.

    Perform daily inspection of assigned vehicle to ensure that the vehicle is clean in and outside, seatbelts are operational, and engine, radiator, brake, clutch, and battery fluids are at recommended levels, and the vehicle is in good running condition.

    Ensuring that vehicle tools (fire extinguisher, first aid kit, jack,) and spare tire are in operational condition in the vehicle.

    Perform minor preventive maintenance and safety checks daily and informs supervisor in case of discrepancies.
    Ensuring that the vehicle displays the following mandatory stickers: – Road license, T.L.B, P.S.V., Insurance, Inspection etc.
    Reporting any defect or suspected defect and have it repaired after authorization by management.
    Maintaining a work ticket book that should be signed and updated in all the relevant columns.
    Ensuring the vehicle is securely parked in the authorized parking area during and after working hours.
    Perform any other duties that may be assigned by Management from time to time.


    Qualifications and Competencies:
    Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE)
    A valid driving license.
    A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya police.
    At least three (3) years of manual car driving experience in an organization.
    First aid training will be an added advantage.
    Mechanical training will be an added advantage.
    Effective communicator – both verbally and in writing.
    Strong interpersonal skills.
    Attentive to detail.
