    Description

    Qualification

    Must have:
    Master's Degree in Library and Information Science (preferably ICT option for the Senior Information Systems Librarian) from a recognized /accredited university or relevant field
    3years' experience as Librarian or its equivalent
    Minimum of one article in a peer reviewed journal
    Must be Computer literate.
    Must be a member of a relevant professional body where applicable.

    OR

    Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science from a recognized /accredited university or relevant field
    5 years' experience as Librarian or its equivalent
    Must be a member of a relevant professional body where applicable.
    Minimum of one article in a peer reviewed journal
    Must be Computer Literate

    Reporting to:
    Deputy Director Academic and Research Affairs


    Duties and responsibilities:
    Supervise staff under the section.
    Maintain and coordinate book selection with teaching departments.
    Provide feedback on selection made by teaching departments.
    Catalogue and classify library materials.
    Register and compile user profiles.
    Facilitate inter-library loan services, information and reference services.
    Compile user statistics.
    Any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisors.
    Conduct User training
