    Description

    The Kenya National Examinations Council (also referred to as KNEC or the Council) was established in 1980 under the Kenya National Examinations Council Act Cap 225A of the Laws of Kenya.

    This Act (Cap 225A of 1980) was repealed in 2012 and replaced with KNEC Act No. 29 of 2012.

    The duties and responsibilities will entail:
    Participating in curriculum development activities;
    Validation of Curriculum Designs for assessment;
    Recruitment and training of contracted professionals;
    Development of assessment tools;
    Proofreading and approving assessment tools for banking;
    Providing input in the preparation of divisional work plans, procurement plans, and budgets;
    Participating in awards and grading;
    Preparing examination feedback reports;
    Ensuring security and confidentiality of all examination and assessment materials;
    Keeping abreast with trends in psychometrics;
    Adhering to the requirements of the Quality Management Systems for continual improvement.

    Person Specifications
    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

    Bachelors Degree in Education with specialization in Islamic Religious Education and History from a recognized institution OR Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from a recognized institution OR a Higher Diploma in a relevant discipline and a Diploma in Technical Education from a recognized institution and At least four (4) years cumulative teaching experience;
    Demonstrated competence and merit in work performance;
    Proficiency in computer applications;
    Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution only for the successful applicants.
