    Description
    Tharaka Nithi County is one of the forty seven (47) counties in Kenya. It borders the Counties of Embu to the South and South West, Meru to the North and North East, Kirinyiga and Nyeri to the West and Kitui to the East and South East

    Requirements for appointment:
    Be a Kenyan citizen;
    Be a holder of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B., & ChB.) Degree from a University recognized in Kenya;
    A Masters degree in Paediatrics and Child Health from a University recognized in Kenya;
    Registered as a Medical/Specialist Practitioner by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council;
    Have a Valid Practicing License;
    Be of acceptable moral and professional standing;
    Willing to undertake duties in person in any part of Tharaka Nithi County as they will be assigned from time to time;


    Duties and responsibilities:
    The Paeditrician shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:

    Monitor and Provide medical care to patients visiting the hospital;
    Admit patients to the hospital for specialized care;
    Give medical education, explain tests and procedures to the patients;
    Maintain confidentiality and impartiality and keep up to date with medical development, new drugs, treatment and medication;
    Participate in Occupational Safety and Health Work programs;
    Perform medical and Surgical operations;
    Prepare and respond to emergencies and disasters;
    performing complex and advanced clinical patient management in area of specialization;
    Coordinating medical emergency response and clinical care;
    Coordinate training, coaching and mentoring of health personnel;
    Developing intervention activities or programs for the management of diseases and conditions developing Medical Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols;
    Managing health information system and carrying out health surveys and research;
    Monitoring the provision of forensic and medico-legal services; and
    Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
