    JOB SUMMARY

    The PM&E Intern will be responsible for supporting the designing, developing, managing, and enhancing a relational database acting as a knowledge management system, utilizing local server-based technology (should be assessable online and offline), linking it to Kobo Toolbox for data collection, and integrating it with PowerBI for data visualization and analysis.

    Additionally, this position entails incorporating a reporting module within the database to generate and disseminate M&E reports effectively.

    KEY TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    The PM&E Intern will assist in the following areas:


    Database Development:
    Design and develop a comprehensive relational database acting as a knowledge management system using local server-based technology.

    Create data structures, tables, and relationships within the database to support various types of information, including M&E data, reports, and documents.


    Kobo Toolbox Integration:
    Configure Kobo Toolbox to collect M&E data and information, ensuring seamless integration with the relational database.
    Customize data collection forms and questionnaires in Kobo Toolbox to capture relevant data for monitoring and evaluation purposes.


    Database and Kobo Toolbox Linkage:
    Establish a robust connection between the relational database and Kobo Toolbox, enabling automated data transfer and synchronization.
    Implement data validation and error-checking mechanisms to maintain data integrity and consistency between the two platforms.


    PowerBI Integration:
    Integrate the relational database with PowerBI for real-time data visualization, reporting, and analysis.
    Develop interactive dashboards and reports in PowerBI to communicate M&E findings and insights effectively to stakeholders.


    Reporting Module Development:
    Design and implement a reporting module within the database to generate standardized M&E reports.
    Develop customizable report templates and formats to meet the diverse reporting needs of stakeholders.


    Database Management:
    Manage and maintain the relational database, including data entry, cleaning, troubleshooting, and report generation tasks.
    Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and quality of data by conducting regular data validation checks and cleaning procedures.


    Knowledge Management:
    Organize and categorize information within the database to facilitate easy retrieval and access by users.
    Develop and maintain documentation, manuals, and guidelines for using the knowledge management system effectively.


    Training and Capacity Building:
    Provide training and support to staff members on database management, data entry, reporting, and troubleshooting procedures.
    Conduct capacity-building sessions to enhance staff skills in utilizing the knowledge management system for M&E purposes.


    Continuous Improvement:
    Monitor the performance and usability of the database, Kobo Toolbox, and PowerBI solutions, identifying areas for improvement.
    Continuously update and refine the knowledge management system based on user feedback and emerging needs.


    QUALIFICATIONS

    ACADEMIC:
    Minimum qualification of a diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Monitoring & Evaluation or a related field.


    SKILLS
    Six months experience in relational database development
    Familiarity with Kobo Toolbox or similar data collection platforms.
    Strong technical skills in database development and management, with proficiency in SQL or other database management systems.
    Basic understanding of data visualization concepts and tools, such as PowerBI.
    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality
