Description
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Way back in the Christmas of 1996, a group of like-minded men and women united by the fireside in Assi and gave birth to Fondazione L'Albero della Vita (FADV). In April 1997, FADV was established as an international NGO headquartered in Milan - Italy. Since its establishment, FADV has been working in Italy and internationally to ensure well-being of children and for their rights. The organization has taken effective actions to create conditions for a dignified life by providing food, care and medical treatment to children and a safe enabling environment for their growth. FADV's commitment for protection and promotion of human rights is in accordance to the guidelines of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Child (UNCRC). FADV works towards improving the family and social system in which a child exists and towards creating a safe environment for his/her effective growth. Internationally, FADV's operational area currently includes Italy, Kenya, Congo, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Romania, Peru, Kenya and Haiti. In Kenya, FADV has been working in Nairobi and Samburu area since 2010. In Kenya, FADV has been working in the five thematic areas of Child Protection, Livelihoods and Urban Development, Humanitarian, Disaster Risk Reduction & Resilience and Health since the start of its journey. We work worldwide with programmes that provide thousands of children in need access to education, health and protection. Our Vision L'Albero della Vita strives to achieve a world where every single person is free to seek a greater awareness of him/herself and of his/her own purpose in this world; it works towards the achievement of a self-education process aimed at the continuous improvement of oneself and of one's own contexts of reference. A world where the dignity of childhood is recognized and which it is entitled to as well as its own genuine potential regarding innovation and its contribution to be safeguarded and developed within every environment by means of coherent approaches and appropriate methodologies. L'Albero della Vita's vision of man and of what he/she is capable of becoming has been inspired by the "Pedagogy for the Third Millennium" principles and approaches of the Patrizio Paoletti Foundation for Development and Communication.
