    Description

    Kenya Commercial Bank Limited is registered as a non-operating holding company which started operations as a licensed banking institution with effect from January 1, 2016.

    The holding company oversees KCB Kenya - incorporated with effect from January 1, and all KCB's regional units in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia and South Sudan.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy for Data & Analytics, aligning it with the Bank's business goals and objectives.

    Develop and maintain the high level and low-level architecture blueprints of data and analytics domain.

    Architect analytics solutions and capabilities such as data mining, predictive analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, to extract actionable insights from data and drive strategic decision-making, risk management, and customer engagement.

    Design data integration solutions to facilitate seamless data exchange and interoperability between disparate systems, applications, and business units, enabling a unified view of enterprise data.

    Collaborate with business leaders, data scientists, and Technology teams to understand data requirements and formulate an architecture that enables efficient and effective analytics.

    Support in the selection and implementation of data platforms and technologies to enable the collection, storage, and processing of large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources.

    Optimize data infrastructure architecture to improve performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness, leveraging cloud computing, containerization, and other modern technologies to support evolving business needs.

    Provide technical leadership for data initiatives and projects from conception to implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives, project timelines, and budget constraints.

    Explore emerging trends and technologies in data management, analytics, and artificial intelligence, and assess their applicability to the bank's data strategy, driving innovation and competitive advantage.

    Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data and analytics architectures, standards, and guidelines.


    DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Work closely with data engineering teams to define data integration strategies and design scalable data pipelines.
    Evaluate and recommend innovative solutions and tools that enhance the bank's data and analytics capabilities.
    Engage with business stakeholders to understand analytics requirements and translate them into data architecture solutions.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with architectural standards and facilitate effective communication.
    Develop action plans to close capabilities gaps in the subject domain area while addressing the accrued technical debt in the data domain

    Education

    Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field of study RQ
    Masters Degree Technology / Business AA

    Experience

    Experience with hybrid data architectures and migrations from on-premises to the cloud and vice versa. 5 ES
    Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to data privacy and security in the financial industry. 3 DE
    Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices. 3 ES
    Excellent understanding of software delivery processes, and methodologies (i.e. waterfall, agile, hybrid) & DevOps 3 ES
    Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation 5 ES
    Excellent planning and organizational skills with ability to breakdown complex items to actionable elements 5 ES
    Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture 5 ES
    Familiarity with graphical modeling approaches, tools and model repositories 5 ES
    Ability to balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications on individual components and projects 5 ES
    Ability to liaise with all levels of management and subject matter experts across the industry and within the organization to drive adoption of Enterprise Architecture 5 ES
