       Assisstant accountant 

 

Outline

Responsible for branch administrative support and clerical roles as assigned by Regional/Branch Accountant including accounting, credit, and logistics.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support accountant in safeguarding and monitoring branch assets to ensure proper utilization and accountability
  • Assisting accountant in preparation of weekly and monthly imprest claims/returns
  • Preparation of monthly imprest, collection, and M-Pesa reconciliations to ensure accountability of branch cash
  • Preparation of transmittal batch sheet of monies collected and banked
  • Updated imprest and M-Pesa cashbook registers daily
  • Support accountant in client accounts analysis to ensure an up-to-date record of clientele accounts in the branch
  • Support accountant in preparation and implementation of branch budget to realize its targets
  • Preparation of LON 251 upon client loan clearance and accountant confirmation
  • Support in maintaining branch registry and updating file movement register to ensure customer files/records are accessible and safe
  • Process supplier’s invoices timely and in line with established procedures for payment
  • Assist accountant to analyse and monitor branch expenditures (budget vs actual), recommend areas of improvement
  • Assist accountant in drafting branch arrears and staff meetings minutes
  • support the branch in arrears and installments follow-ups
