October 2022 to Date: Working as a Cashier and Front Office Supervisor at Planet Garden annex Hotel.

 DUTIES

  • Performing all functions of a waitress, housekeeper when they are not around or if need.
  • Preparing the daily, weekly and monthly reports for the front office and all outlets generating revenue to the hotel.
  • Making requisitions for the front office department.

Worked as a general hotelier and served in the following areas:

  • Kitchen, Laundry, public area, housekeeping, service, receptionist, night auditor and finally majored in the following departments.

FRONT OFFICE: Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office.
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office.
  • Programming room cards.
  • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g., pens, forms and brochures)
  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
  • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges)
  • Order front office supplies and keep inventory of stock
  • Update calendars and schedule meetings
  • Arrange travel and accommodations.
  • Keep updated records of office expenses and costs.
  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, emailing, and scanning
  • Cashiering; Billing using opera system.
  • Making reservations using opera system.
  • Checking in and Checkout guests using opera system.
  • Listening to the guests complains and giving out the solutions.
  • Helping in room service provision in case the housekeeper is not around.
  • Posting bills for transport transfers and passersby.
  • Helping guests on registration of cards during their check in.

FINANCE (NIGHT AUDITOR): Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performing daily audit of housekeeping report in comparison to front office report and study occupancy reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Taking all duties of a receptionist at night and Handling guest complains at night.
  • Prepare daily balance sheet of all revenues and settlement accounts every night and file up details for reference.
  • Emailing daily reports after running the audit and closing the PDQs.
  • Performing night audit of the hotel and outlet for revenue as per the existing procedures.
  • Discounting rooms as per the request in the system.
  • Administer and compile daily restaurant revenue report data and perform audit on service journals.
  • Administer and reset accounting system for all new operations.

October 2018- May 2019: Thika Level Five Hospital as Surgical Dietitian Technologist Duties and Responsibilities

  • Taking the nutritional assessment.
  • Nutritional guiding and counseling.
  • Making food regimes and meal plans for the patients.
  • Prescription of supplements depending on the patients’ condition.
  • Helping in feeding the patients who needs support and those on NG tubes.
  • Ensuring that patients take the correct meals and portions.
  • Identifying those on malnutrition and managing them.
  • Monitoring and doing the follow up.
  • Preparing monthly reports.
  • Supervising and orienting the students on attachment and the interns to ensure everything runs smoothly.

July2015 -June 2018

  • Worked at Nzoia Sugar Company as a Data Entry Clerk in Agriculture Department, Agronomy Section - Experimentation.

August - November 2014 - Lodwar District Hospital as a Nutritionist.

Duties and responsibilities.

  • Giving health education to pregnant mothers, post-natal and others.
  • Supplementation of Vit.A to children under 5 years, distributing dewormers and folic acid to pregnant women.
  • Ensuring that the environment is clean to maintain sanitation and hygiene.
  • Distributing supplements to the malnourished children in OTP, Comprehensive Clinic Care.
  • Admission and discharging of patients in stabilization Centre.
  • Educating women in the maternity on how to breast feed and those in the incubators.
  • Supervising in the kitchen how the meals are cooked and if they are the right meals and ensuring each patient gets the right meal.
  • Taking the nutritional assessment in Comprehensive Clinic Care.
  • Monitoring on the growth of children in stabilization center.
  • Monitoring the growth and changes of PLHVs.
  • Guiding and counseling PLHVs.
