Leunid Odhiambo
Pharmaceutical / Bio-tech
About Leunid Odhiambo:
I hold a degree in Biotechnology from Mount Kenya University and have gained hands-on laboratory and field experience in healthcare-related research. During my attachment at KEMRI-CGHR (HIV Laboratory), I worked on molecular and immunological techniques, including sample processing, diagnostic assays, and data handling for public health studies.
Additionally, my final year research project focused on evaluating the antimicrobial and antioxidant potential of Neem (Azadirachta indica) extracts, which deepened my understanding of natural product research and its potential application in healthcare and drug development.
Beyond the lab, I have served as a field researcher and enumerator with organizations such as World Vision and Consumer Insight, where I collected health-related and social data from communities. This strengthened my skills in data collection, transcription, reporting, and engaging with participants ethically and sensitively.
Through these experiences, I have developed a strong interest in translating biotechnology and biomedical research into healthcare solutions, particularly in diagnostics, therapeutics, and public health interventions
