About Diana Wamuya:

As a HR Practioner, my primary objective is to foster a productive and harmonious work environment by effectively managing human resources within an organization. With a strong foundation in HR principles and practices, I am committed to supporting the company's strategic goals and ensuring the well-being of its employees.

Experience

(a)Recruitment and Selection

  • Liaise with various departments in understanding their staffing needs and revising job descriptions for the open positions.
  • Provide support throughout the recruitment process, including tasks such as receiving applications for advertised positions, summarizing profiles of shortlisted candidates, and coordinating interview logistics.
  • Networking with schools to source for candidates in the hospitality industry and offer internships/jobs to them.
  • Ensure recruitment policies or guidelines are followed during the entire process.

(b)Onboarding/Induction

  • Prepare the induction program and material for new employees. Ensuring that new staff have their tools/material for work. Adding new joiners to benefit schemes. Follow up with the joiners to ensure that the induction is completed and file a copy of the induction program.
  • Ensure that new employees have undergone training and understand what is expected of them before going to their work station.

(c)Employee development/Training and Development

  • Ensure regular trainings for all employees in the different departments to enhance and develop their skills.
  • File attendance records for all the trainings. 

(d)Employee Relations

  • Processing warning letters in accordance with the company disciplinary tree.
  • Sitting in for the disciplinary hearings in presence of a legal personnel.
  • Handling any employees’ grievances /issues.
  • Assists in maintaining effective employee communication channels. 

 

(e) Compliance

  • Assists with ensuring employee files contain required employment paperwork, proper performance management and compensation documentation, are properly maintained and secured for the required length of time.
  • Communicates property rules and regulations via the employee handbook.
  • Update and maintain leave/sick off records for all employees and ensure implementation is done accordingly.
  • Ensure Benefits changes/medical reports are filed on individual personal file.

(f) Benefits Administration

  • Ensure new staff fill out insurance and pension application forms and share them with the HR Manager to enroll in the coverage plan. Providing support to employees regarding the medical insurance and welfare scheme. Processing medical and last expense claims.

(g)Payroll Processing

  • Support the payroll officer with payroll inputs collection such as absences, exits, promotions, new staff and distribution of pay slips to staff.
  • Draft reports showing various movements that have taken place example promotions, new staff, change of designation and resignations.          

(h) Separation

  • Facilitate the employee exit interview and clearance process during separation in line with company and legal regulations and issuance of Certificate of service.
