NOMINATED-GLOBAL TEACHER AWARD 2024

Major Gen Charles Mwanzia is nominated for the Prestigeous Global Teacher Award 2024 which is in process with the Judges. Responding to then President Unuru Kenyatta who called on Kenyans to assist the Neiboring Somalia to “stand on their own feet”.  He successfully mobilized his colleague University Lecturers who volunteered  to undertake Capacity Building training for Somalia Federal and Regional Assembly Legislators from Mogadishu, Jubaland, Southwest and Hirshabelle State Assemblies In Baidoa, Kismayu and Jowhar against all odds. Part of the training was rescheduled to Nairobi and Kampala after Bombing incidents. However training focus on Women empowerment was concluded with a visit of Legislators to Machakos and Nairobi where Women Assembly Speakers Hon Alachi and Mwangangi demonstrated their skills as Speakers. After the training Somalia assemblies started electing Women Speakers, Deputy Speakers and Acting Women Speakers. The Country Constitution whic recognize only Islam Religion provide for Inclusivity which saw the country appoint the first Chair-Person of National Electoral Commission Halima Ismail Ibrahim born and raised in Mogadishu as first Chairperson. The Kenyan Team Training was partlly sponsored by AMISOM who provided Stipends to the Volunteer Team. The Inter Parliamentary Union Standards were applied in Parliamentary Practices training.
