About Zahra Ali Al-Harazi:

With over 10 years of work experience in the food and security sectors, I am the owner of Shakes 'N' Cakes, a fast-growing chain of dessert cafes in Kenya. As the owner, I oversee the strategic vision, financial performance, and operational excellence of the company, as well as the recruitment, training, and retention of over 25 employees. I am highly ambitious, self motivated, thrive for perfection and passionate about creating a positive and inclusive work culture, where everyone can thrive and contribute to the company's mission of providing delicious and affordable treats to our customers. Experience

As a cafe manager, I've gained extensive experience in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a cafe. Here are some key elements of my experience:


 

Staff Management:

- I have a strong background in managing a diverse team of employees, including hiring, training, and scheduling.

- I ensure that each staff member understands their roles and responsibilities, and I provide ongoing support and guidance to help them succeed.

- I promote a positive and inclusive work environment, foster teamwork, and address any conflicts or issues that may arise.


 

Customer Service:

- I prioritize excellent customer service and strive to create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for every customer who walks through the door.

- I train my staff to deliver prompt and friendly service, handle customer complaints and inquiries, and maintain a clean and comfortable atmosphere.

- I actively seek feedback from customers, constantly striving to improve their experience and meet their needs.


 

Operations and Inventory Management:

- I am responsible for monitoring inventory levels, placing orders, and ensuring that we have an adequate supply of ingredients and beverages.

- I oversee the financial aspects of the cafe, including budgeting, cost control, and analyzing sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.

- I maintain a safe and compliant environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained.


 

Menu Development and Special Events:

- I collaborate with the chef and other staff members to create an enticing and diverse menu that reflects the preferences of our target customers.

- I organize and execute special events, such as promotions, themed nights, or seasonal menu changes, to keep our offerings fresh and exciting.


 

Marketing and Promotions:

- I work closely with the marketing team to develop campaigns and strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.

- I utilize social media, online platforms, and community partnerships to raise awareness of our cafe and drive customer engagement.

- I analyze marketing efforts and assess their effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary to optimize customer reach and conversion.


 

Through my experience as a cafe manager, I have developed a strong skill set in various areas, including staff management, customer service, operations, menu development, marketing, and more.
