Phidelma Afwayi

Driven and Enthusiastic Advocate Trainee and currently a legal assistant
with over 2+ years’ experience working at a medium sized busy law firm.
I am Self-motivated, strongly driven and energetic. I am passionate about
the law and possess a growth mindset thus always looking to improve
myself and be an asset to the company I work for. I enjoy working with
others as the interaction builds team work and the overall success of the
company. I completed my LLB Degree attaining a Second Class, Upper
Division. I am currently completing my training at the Kenya School of
Law where I am training to become an Advocate of the High Court of
Kenya. I consider myself a hardworking individual, self-disciplined thus
requiring minimal to no supervision, this is besides the fact that I have
no issue inquiring as learning is the goal. I have a strong sense of business
acumen and understanding that the organization’s commercial
objectives are crucial to my work.

Resposibilities include:

Drawing pleadings and related documents; Plaints, Statement of Claim
, Affidavits , Defences and other litigation documents;
Conducting client interviews; Supervised court attendance;
Preparing & Filing submissions and other court documents;
Conducting detailed legal research and writing;
Raising fee notes;
Drafting inter and intra office correspondence;
Managing, organizing, and maintaining documents in paper or
electronic filing systems
Legal accounting;
General client care and attention.
