Experience

During my time as an Innovations Intern, I had the opportunity to guide start-ups through the process of innovation, from idea inception to commercialization. It was an exciting experience to be part of their journey and witness their ideas come to life. I worked closely with them to ensure they had the support they needed to succeed.

One of my key responsibilities was collecting, capturing and sorting data on innovations being incubated in the center. This allowed me to keep track of their progress and identify any areas that needed improvement. I also performed SWOT analysis for start-ups to improve the performance and applicability of their innovation. This helped them to identify their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and come up with a strategy to overcome any challenges they faced.

Another crucial aspect of my role was sensitizing start-ups and the general public on the Kenya Copyright laws through organizing workshops and conducting surveys. This was important to equip them with the necessary knowledge to protect their intellectual property. By doing so, I helped to foster a culture of innovation and creativity in the start-up ecosystem.

Overall, my time as an Innovations Intern was a fulfilling experience that allowed me to make a significant impact in the start-up ecosystem. I am proud of the work I did and look forward to continuing to support start-ups and entrepreneurs in the future.

 

As a Center Clerk, I had the responsibility of capturing data pertaining to national examinations accurately and in an orderly manner for transmission to the data center. It was important to ensure that this was done with precision, as the data captured was essential in determining the academic progress of students.

As part of my duties, I also had to sort and maintain confidential documents in an easily retrievable manner. This helped to ensure that these documents were not only kept safe but also easily accessible whenever they were required. I took this responsibility seriously and always made sure that everything was in order.

In addition, I liaised with KNEC officials to enforce marking exercise protocols. This was important in maintaining the integrity of the examination process and ensuring that students received accurate results. I was always keen to ensure that these protocols were followed to the letter and that everything was done in a transparent and fair manner.

I also oversaw the sorting and dispatch of scripts from KNEC warehouses to ensure the right consignment reached the station. This was crucial in ensuring that the marking exercise ran like clockwork.

Overall, my experience as a Center Clerk was a valuable one as it taught me the importance of attention to detail, confidentiality and following protocols. I am confident that the skills I gained in this role will be valuable in in the Treasury and Trade Solutions University Vacation Program at Citi Group.

 

As an ICT Clerk, I had the responsibility of ensuring that the electoral process ran smoothly by accurately capturing and transmitting data. I was involved in various tasks, including:

Capturing the data of voters accurately and ensuring that all required information was captured. This was crucial in ensuring that voters were properly registered and could participate in the election process. I was always keen to ensure that the data captured was accurate and up-to-date.

In addition, I played a critical role in confirming whether details had been correctly entered in the system during voter confirmation. This involved carefully checking the data entered in the system to ensure that it matched the details provided by the voter. Any discrepancies were quickly identified and resolved to avoid any confusion or disputes during the election process.

Another important task I was involved in was cross-checking details of voters on identification cards with those on the KIEMS kit for voter identification(KYC). This was important in ensuring that voters were correctly identified and that only eligible voters were allowed to cast their vote.

Lastly, I was responsible for the transmission of data relevant to the election process to the tallying center. This involved transmitting data accurately and in a timely manner to ensure that the election results were accurately captured and tallied.

In summary, my experience as an ICT Clerk was an exciting one that taught me the importance of accuracy, attention to detail, communication with diverse groups of people, collaboration being part of a cross functional team and handling confidential material. I am confident that the skills and experience gained in this role will be valuable in this program.

Education

During my Business Innovation and Technology Management education, I gained a deep understanding of the intricate relationship between business strategy, innovation, and technology. I acquired a range of knowledge and skills that enable me to effectively navigate the dynamic and evolving landscape of modern businesses.

Throughout my studies, I delved into the core principles of business strategy, examining how organizations can leverage innovative approaches to achieve sustainable growth and competitive advantage. I honed my analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, allowing me to identify opportunities, assess market dynamics, and develop strategic initiatives that align with business goals.

Moreover, I developed a strong foundation in technology management, exploring the latest advancements and their impact on business operations. I studied topics such as digital transformation, IT infrastructure optimization, and technology adoption. This knowledge equips me to help organizations effectively harness technology to drive efficiency, improve processes, and enhance overall performance.

A significant aspect of my education focused on fostering an innovative mindset. I learned techniques for ideation, creativity, and design thinking, enabling me to generate and evaluate innovative ideas. I understand the importance of fostering a culture of innovation within organizations and have the ability to facilitate and lead innovation initiatives.

Collaboration and effective communication were also emphasized throughout my education. I participated in group projects, engaging with diverse teams to solve real-world business challenges. This experience enhanced my teamwork and communication skills, enabling me to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.

In summary, my Business Innovation and Technology Management education has equipped me with a unique combination of business acumen, technological expertise, and innovative thinking. I am prepared to contribute to organizations by leveraging these skills to drive growth, optimize operations, and foster a culture of innovation.
