Lee Achieng'

I am a business owner and a corporate communication graduate from Multimedia University of Kenya. I run Achique, an online shop that sells women outfits made out of Kitenge, a vibrant African fabric. I have a strong background in customer service, having worked as a representative for Clipboard Health and Metro by T-Mobile, where I handled inbound and outbound calls, emails, and problem-solving processes.

In my previous roles, I used my communication and CRM skills to provide excellent service to health care professionals, facilities, and phone customers, educating them on the available options and solutions. I also gained valuable experience as a research assistant and an enumerator for Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, and as a public relations intern for National Museums of Kenya, where I contributed to data collection, analysis, and dissemination, as well as media relations and event management. I am motivated by the opportunity to use my skills and passion to create positive social impact, and I believe I can bring diverse perspectives and experiences to any team I join.

During my industrial attachment at NMK, I was tasked with writing newsletters, updating the calendar of events, booking spaces for clients, creating posters and making outbound calls to museums when necessary.

I was an enumerator during the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census that was done in the year 2019. It was my responsibility to visit all the households within my assigned enumeration area and gather all the necessary and relevant information as required by Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing tablet.

We conducted a FINACCESS survey under Kenya National Bureau of Statistics for CBK and FSD Kenya so as to understand the financial health of Kenyan citizens which would later help in making decisions under monetary groups and institutions.

I later was a customer service provider. My role was to receive inbound calls from customers who needed assistance with bill payment for their phone bills, changing their phone plans, devices and many other. Educating them on the different self-help options available was also part of the resolution process.

My key responsibilities include receiving and making outbound calls to clarify information from health care professionals and facilities so as to allow the institution run smoothly. When we have minimum calls on queue, I get to respond to emails via Zendesk. Apart from that, I am responsible to keep up with updates on confluence on how to handle problem-solving processes and procedures.

I pursued my corporate communication studies at the Multimedia University of Kenya. This included Public Speaking, Marketing Communication, Principles of Management, Project Management, Public Communication Campaigns, Corporate Advertising Design and Production, Corporate Communication,  Crisis Communication, Proposal Writing and Fundraising, Events Management, Corporate Communication Campaigns & Evaluation, Drama Club.
