June 1st 2020 - 1st December 2022: Stock controller - Quick Mart Limited (Quickmart Supermarket)
         Roles

  • Conducting category and departmental stock counts in the store to check on stock variances against system stocks 
  • Ensuring receiving of merchandise in the store procedures and rules is followed properly by ensuring Invoice quantities, cost, product name match with the local purchase order. 
  • Ascertain all received Invoices are posted in the ERP system within the same day with the right Invoice number, right Invoice date, right quantities and using the right agreed cost price with the supplier (markup). 
  • Controlling Damages, short expiry and expiry of merchandise at the store making sure they all have credit note for supplier collection. 
  • Analyzing system stocks to reduce out of stock, overstocks, slow moving items and dead stocks by coming up with necessary solutions. 
  • Assisting Inventory manager by implementing and developing inventory procedures and policies at the store level.
  • Performing weekly and monthly fresh category stock take which includes deli, bakery and butchery and highlighting the variances.
  • Conducting annual stock take for all categories at the branch level. 
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate stocks at the store.  
  • Confirming daily POS voids and Refunds making sure they are returned to the respective section. 
  • Confirming customer returns and left items records to adjust the stocks back to the system to maintain accurate system stocks.
  • Reconciling Inter-branch transfers and Inter-departmental transfers documents for accuracy of stocks ledger. 
  • Ensuring the Branch expenses (deli expense, shop expense, bakery expense and butchery expense) are within the set limit   
  • Breaking down sales budget for the eight categories at the branch level
  • Pre-checking local purchase orders to ascertain they are in optimal quantities considering inventory days, current stock holding and movement.
  • Responding to stock request from the head office inventory department for decision making pertaining supplier accounts payment.
  • Doing weekly fresh department production projections to reduce on waste and maximize on profits.
  • Eliminating dead stocks and slow moving stocks at the branch by coming up with necessary plans like suggesting on clearance sales or direct returns to the suppliers.
     

2018 June – May 2020 : Branch Management Clerk Tumaini Self Service Limited (Tumaini Supermarket) 
         Roles 

  • Ensuring documentations for all branch expenses and productions sheets for fresh category is well documented. 
  • Raising of all local purchase orders and sending to suppliers for deliveries.
  • Conducting liquor and gas category daily cycle counts and reporting the variances to the Inventory manager. 
  • Preparing daily, weekly & monthly branch sales analysis report 
  • Planning annual general stocktaking exercise at the branch by ensuring binning of the floor is well done and stock take sheets well printed. 
  • In charge of back office operations.
  • Following up on supplier delivery timelines to avoid stock outs at the branch.

    January 2018 – May 2018 : Loss Prevention Officer-Double Checker - Omega Risk Management Limited
    Roles
  • In charge of the re-checking of already received merchandise to certify for quantity, quality and damages. 
  • Checking of invoice cost price to make sure all goods invoiced are received at the agreed local purchase order cost price. 
  • Ensuring all the receiving procedures are followed properly as required. 
  • Ensuring  receiving bay is cleared of any merchandise at all times 
  • Ensuring all invoiced merchandise matches the physically the delivered items 
  • Ensuring receiving bay is closed at any moment and no merchandise is being passed out from the store through the receiving bay apart from the goods return notes (GRN)
  • Approval of validity of both the local purchase orders and invoice through stamping and signing. 
  • Making sure all the GRNs are collected by their respective suppliers after every delivery is done. 
  • Preparation of daily and monthly store receiving reports 
     
    January 2015  – December 2017 :  Inventory Controller - Tusker Mattresses Limited (Tuskys Supermarkets)
    Roles
  • Assist in developing and implementing inventory policies and procedures and ensuring they are up to date  
  • Preparation and distribution of daily, weekly and monthly inventory levels and consumption reports to the Inventory Manager  
  • Facilitate and participate in monthly and annual stock counts 
  • Ensuring integrity and accuracy of the stock management system 
  • Implementing improvement processes to optimize inventory, minimize costs and maximize working capital 
  • Ensuring that daily stock adjustments are correctly processed 
  • Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved  
  • Ensured integrity and maximum accuracy of the entire stock management system 
  • Management of obsolete products in the store department 
  • Preparation of monthly shrinkage reports and reporting them to the Inventory Manager 
  • Supervision of receiving of merchandise making sure all procedures are followed.
  • Posting of daily, monthly and annual stock takes at the branch. 

    January 2014 - December 2014 : Stocktaker - Tusker Mattresses Limited (Tuskys Supermarket)
    Roles
  • Preparation for stock take which involves binning of the supermarket shelves and preparing bin sheets that are used during the actual stock take. 
  • Stocktaking which involves physical count of the products in the supermarket. 
  • Assist in the activities of the supermarket. This is where we get to run all jobs offered in the supermarkets from administration officer responsibilities, back office and receiving officers’ task, cashiers’ responsibilities and finally the line attendant tasks. 
  • Inventory control. This is to ensure all documents are in order and correct in accordance to goods received from suppliers
