I possess Ten years post qualification experience in various settings of the finance and accounting sector such as financial budget revision, regular monitoring of the financial activities, and Monitoring the expenditures in line with the budget I also Develop procedural documents, and processes and ensure full understanding of the financial management process at all levels within the project. Ensure proper implementation of competitive processes for grantee selection and negotiation. Ensure that solid documentation is provided under each grant and ensure that pre-award risk assessments are carried out on each grantee and that decisions are incorporated into grant awards. My experience has been in Public and private sector environments through employment and consultancies.

My roles include supporting the grants department as a Grants Officer, where I support a USAID-funded project, in the Karamoja Cluster partners under PEACE III. In this cluster, I manage eight (8) partners in the Karamoja and Six (6) Partners under European Union Trust Fund
I ensure proper implementation of program work plans by monitoring partners’ progress, on-time disbursement of funds, and liquidation of monthly financial reports. I have conducted financial reviews for PEACE III subgrants on a quarterly basis. I also provide capacity building to the partners through onsite support, and emails, while providing feedback on reports as well as organized training by the department.
I also ensure grant administrative systems and procedures are updated and revised according to requirements and to ensure that all records are maintained for all grants and archived.
This position has not only enabled me to gain a deep understanding of my work but has also accorded me the opportunity to be part of the change agents in Pact. Among my professional qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in commerce – Finance option and Certified Public Accountant Part 3 Section 5 and currently pursuing an MBA. I have also trained and possess practical experience in the use of accounting packages including Pastel, and currently using Turn quest (ERP), AIMS, Serenic, and PROMISE.
