  • Oversee end to end transport processes i.e receiving, dispatching and distribution.

  • Monitor supplies’ cycle, track cargo from port to ensure delivery is done in time.
  • Provide work plans, route plans, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results for the transport and logistics team.
  • Build and manage a network of third-party service provider’s i.e transporter of cargo form port to our warehouses, and or transporters of our products to dealers and customers.
  • Coordinate with sales team in terms of timely delivery of sold products to their yards.
  • Develop and implement an integrated logistics strategy monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and warehousing of goods.
  • Ensure adequate record keeping of all vehicles and manage all documentation to confirm proper cost levels and maintain a proper preventive maintenance record.
  • Allocate duties to drivers.
  • Allocate assignments to service providers in terms of proper maintenance.
  • Ensure that the vehicles and drivers meet the set standards of operation.
  • Negotiate the best deals in terms of delivery of products across boarder and determine the correct charges.
  • Approving vehicle service providers across all the branches.

DUTIES

 

  • Perform all logistical assignments across the group. 
  • Management of the vehicle fleet, including routine and ad hoc service requirements, purchasing of spare parts, ensuring vehicle documents (insurance, TLB and inspection certificates) are up to date, checking of vehicle log sheets and safe keeping of vehicle logbooks.  
  • Vehicle hiring for AFEX, trucks and safari vans, as required. Arrange the contract documents with help from the legal department and arrange for LPOs to be issued. 
  • Responsibility and management of the drivers including allocating duties, approving overtime, managing their leave, the itinerary and float for the truck drivers when on the road. 
  • Perform the pre-inspection checks as required by AFEX procedures and clients requirements. Complete a Journey Management Plan for every truck going to Tullow.
  • Procuring the spare parts for all vehicles (both in HQ and camps) following AFEX procurement procedures; procure water and electricity components as required by camps and send ensure safe secure delivery. 
  • Maintain records of all procurement, vehicle hire and individual vehicle files.
  • Ensure that safari vehicles are prepared and ready for clients.
  • Oversee work, manage performance and development of drivers and the rider.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with AFEX Procedures.
  • Follow-up vehicle claims with the insurance companies in case of accidents
  • Incharge of all maintenance of generators and other company assets and utilities.

Duties
