Geothermal Development Company (GDC) is a fully government-owned company in Kenya's energy sector. GDC was formed in 2008 to accelerate the development of geothermal resources in Kenya and is tasked with developing steam fields and selling geothermal steam for electricity generation.
Responsibilities: Leading the Planning and Performance Management function to support the growth strategy and execution of HR policies and procedures that support current and future business goals.
Key achievements
- Supported Human Resource Planning by formulating HR Policies, procedures and strategies as part of a Committee tasked to develop and review of the Company’s Human Resource Policy & Procedures Manual
- Coordinated the development of the annual Human Resource Balanced Scorecard in line with the Company’s annual Performance Contract
- Developed and implemented remuneration and reward policies and systems which were incorporated in the Human Resources and Procedures Manual
- Managed training needs assessment in liaison with departmental heads developed and managed annual training plans for implementation, including local and external training funded by both the Government of Kenya and Development Partners
