A meticulous and detail-oriented Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist with over 10 years' experience designing and implementing different program including HIV-Care and Treatment and OVC programs, Education and livelihoods programs and particular expertise in strategic planning and performance management to enhance the effectiveness of programs.

I was responsible of enabling evidence-based decision-making process, maintenance of M&E systems and effective implementation of M&E activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Strengthening the M&E system through conducting data quality assessments and ensuring timely completion of assigned M&E deliverables identifying where modification and adaptation are needed
- Ensuring timely completion of major M&E deliverables, regular periodic analysis of data to identify and communicate lessons learnt and presentation of data to management
- Conducting Impact Evaluations by coordinating and supervising baseline, process and end of project evaluation following the theory of change; disseminating the results externally and internally to introduce course correction
- Improving coordination of M&E activities by ensuring M&E information is shared and flows transparently within the project team, working closely with program management to help ensure work plans are on target to meet deliverables in a timely and effective manner

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer
My role predominantly involved leading the Program Team in developing tools and data collection procedures including, but not limited to logical frameworks, performance tracking tools, indicators, data flow charts, and M&E manuals. I worked with diverse groups of individuals in respect of the following:
Key Responsibilities
- Developing sustainable project plans for the organisations Education, Child Wellbeing, Women’s Empowerment and Community Health and Development programs;
- Leading the operations research team in designing frameworks and implementing M&E systems that strengthen project deliverable;
- Contributing towards program decision making by providing a streamlined approach that enhances the effective direction of the organisations program;
- Supporting the team in all data collection, analysis, and learning activities and providing guidance to ensure accountability and efficiency throughout the lifecycle of all programs and projects;
- Delivering training and development workshops for the program team to enhance their knowledge in methodologies on how to capture, consolidate and archive data that analyses program performance;
- Generating and producing high level written reports and ensuring detailed presentation and dissemination to program stakeholders;
- Managing the preparation of all evaluation and monitoring reports and providing guidance to staff and executing partners in preparing their progress reports in accordance with approved reporting formats and ensure their timely submission.
Key Achievements
- Spearheaded the internal evaluation for 4 programs and 20 projects;
- Implemented the M&E department from scratch by developing a clear framework and project plans that has enabled all programs to understand in depth the indicators they are supposed to track. When I joined the organisation, there was no M&E, reporting was a challenge because there were no program & project plans.

I launched my career with COGRI as an Intern and was hired as the Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant to provide support to the Program Officers in designing, implementation and reporting on all M&E activities. Utilizing my skills in project design and strategic framework, I achieved a promotion to a more progressive responsible role as Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. I supported the Program management team in respect of the following:
Key Responsibilities
- Established log frames, M&E work plans, and targets during the drafting of donor project proposals through to project implementation;
- Established an effective system for assessing the validity of monitoring and evaluation data by utilizing data capturing and methodology analysis;
- Enhanced staff capacity on M&E by providing on-going technical support and facilitating development training workshops;
- Managed the Health Information Systems-IQ CARE, CPIMS including introducing efficient M&E databases to store, analysis and present relevant information;
- Prepared Project reports as per the donor/government requirements, including responding to data audits and inquiries from the donor;
- Ensured timely reports were sent to the Government of Kenya, USAID, DATIM and Key stakeholders regarding captured data;
- Led the program internal research, captured the dated and presented the analyzed results to key stakeholders;
- Facilitated training programs for nutritionists on the Kenya Nutrition and HIV System (NHP) system and reporting nutrition services;
- Tracked, managed and reviewed all project reports and collated data that assisted with making programmatic decisions.
Key Achievements
- At COGRI I set up a research team. We were able to successfully role out a survey on adolescents living with HIV that led to the initiation of adolescent project within the program specifically to deal with the unique challenges they were facing;
- Achieved promotions into roles of progressive responsibility; starting out as an intern and promoting to the position as Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
