- Responsible for the primary planning, direct implementation of project activities, and monitoring of activities progress.
- Ensure all staff under this project effective plans and procedures are in place to safeguard survivors especially children by promoting the accessibilities to services.
- Work directly with children in need and their families in the community in order to promote, strengthen and develop the potential of parents/carers and their children in order to prevent children from becoming looked after and/or suffering significant harm.
- Encourage good practice by promoting and championing the Child Protection Policy and procedures.
- Support leaders and staff to respond appropriately to disclosures or concerns which relate to the wellbeing of a student.
- Support school staff in maintaining accurate, confidential, and up-to-date documentation on all cases of safeguarding and child protection and report where required.
Reporting
- Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly based on the donor’s demand.
- Adhering to professional standards and tools on both protection and safeguarding
- Ensure appropriate monitoring to the safety of children in schools and in the community
- Participate in the relative meeting, workshops, and working groups where necessary
Capacity Building and Advocacy
- Conduct capacity-building training on child safeguarding to the other project staff, community-based committee’s focal points.
- Develop, and coordinate a safeguarding capacity building strategy for staff and affiliates
- Develop and coordinate a periodic training for all staff, interns, volunteers, Child protection and Safeguarding Policy.
Lutheran World Federation-Kakuma and Kalobeyei settlement: Sexual and Gender Based Violence Officer
Programme Management
- Ensure systematic means by which children with SGBV protection concerns can be identified , assessed and have their details both at the Nadapal border post, within Kakuma camp and Kalobeyei settlement.
- Oversee case management and support services provided to GBV survivors
- Actively protect children in every aspect of work and personal life, by preventing harm and reporting SGBV cases
- Initiate planning for longer term – SGBV prevention and response activities , including referral pathways and standard operating procedures
- Maintain, monitor and measure GBV project implementation and contribute to effective information management on SGBV survivors
- Assist with general SGBV program operations and field- based activities
Reporting
- Submit quality reports as scheduled including but not limited to weekly, monthly , quarterly and annual report
- Participate in design of projects activities , monitoring systems and capacity building activities for partners, community members and children
Capacity Building and Advocacy
- Follow up children cases referred for safe shelter in collaboration with related stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationship with relevant stakeholders including GOK. LWF Donors, partner agencies, community structures and service providers
- Deliver continuous technical coaching, perform monitoring and evaluation of the quality of GBV related work in child protection sector, and capacity building of staff who s/he will be working with in GBV prevention and response
Lutheran World Federation-Kakuma: Deputy Child Protection Off Programme Management
- Spearhead the design and establishment of a comprehensive refugee child protection strategy.
- Provide leadership to LWF incentive staffs to ensure teamwork, synergy and meeting of departmental targets.
- In coordination with LWF Psychosocial staff, spearhead specific child protection activities including identification of children at heightened risk and effect appropriate interventions through activities such as alternative care arrangements, birth registration.
- Coordinate and oversee the Best Interest Assessments
- Monitor developments in the implementation of the refugee child protection strategy and ensure congruence with national and international child protection strategies.
- Promote knowledge of child protection project implementation with donors, community.
Reporting
- Responsible for ensuring the drafting of child protection action plans, recommendations and other project documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency with established rules, regulations and standards.
- Responsible for ensuring timely, quality and comprehensive child protection reports, BIA reports and review and analysis of child protection reports and draw out emerging trends and issues to inform program planning and decision making.
- Prepare and provide monthly reports and data to the child protection office performance, progress against targets and client needs.
- Support the availability of accurate, complete and up to date information required for effective child protection programme and project design, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation.
- Ensure up to date record keeping on child protection matters
Capacity Building and Advocacy
- Engage in capacity building activities and conduct training on refugee child protection.
- Conduct child protection training to refugee community structures including community leaders and foster parents.
- Team with local Government counterparts and partner organizations to exchange information, conduct capacity building and advocacy on child protection issues.
- Support training and capacity development of LWF staff in child protection through development of tools, training support.
- Provide training and other support in child protection program assessment, design and monitoring of latest developments in child protection. Coordination and Networking
- Liaise with and support partners in refugee child protection and inform and participate in relevant networking and coordination forums.
- Develop and maintain partnership and network with external organizations and the government and keep a proper database.
Childline Kenya: Tele counselor Programme Management
- One-on-one counselling and Tele counselling to children who are abused and theirs rights been violated.

- Documentation of cases.

- Giving referrals to victims of abuse and following up on cases.

- Support in planning Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation of Projects
