Public Health trained Officer, with excellent Knowledge and skills in participatory, monitoring and evaluation, Water and sanitation, hygiene health promotion activities, waste management, environmental impact assessment, and occupational health and safety. I have excellent written, oral, and communication skills.

I have over eight years of combined experience in various roles related to health and safety, public health, and research. My skills include proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. I have also worked with data analysis tools like SPSS.

In my previous position as a Health and Safety Assistant at Domopan Construction Company in Qatar since July 2021, I have been responsible for improving the safety of the work site. This includes conducting inspections, training workers on basic first aid, proposing new safety monitoring methodologies, and fostering inclusivity within the safety committee. I have conducted random inspections, facilitated toolbox meetings, and implemented learning activities to enhance workplace health and safety. Additionally, I address non-compliance with health and safety regulations and devise creative solutions for emergent problems.

Prior to this, from January 2018 to January 2021, I worked as a Health and Safety Officer at Vaghjiyani Enterprise Limited. In this role, I ensured accident prevention through inductions, routine emergency scenarios, and educating employees on policies and legislation. I chaired safety meetings, conducted investigations, and implemented remedial measures. I also provided training on the safe use, storage, and transportation of hazardous materials.

From September 2015 to 2018, I served as a Public Health Officer - Head Intern at the Public Health Department of Nairobi City County. My responsibilities included monitoring and evaluation, data entry, report compilation, and assisting in capacity building forums. I also worked as an intern at the Kenya Red Cross Society from May 2014 to September 2015, where I conducted health education sessions, supported WASH activities, participated in emergency response training, and assisted with records management.

During my traineeship at Docklink Records Company from April 2013 to August 2013, I supported the organization and arrangement of company records, updated supplier and staff records, and utilized Excel for data management.

Overall, I possess a diverse range of skills and experiences in health and safety, research, public health, and data analysis. I have demonstrated my ability to implement safety measures, train employees, and carry out various tasks related to health and safety and public health.

At Kenyatta University, I pursued a program that offered a comprehensive curriculum in environmental health and public health. Throughout my studies, I had the opportunity to engage with various course units that aimed to equip me with the necessary knowledge and skills for a successful career in this field.

The university placed a strong emphasis on developing well-rounded individuals, incorporating common units such as Communication Skills, Creative and Critical Thinking, and Entrepreneurship. These units were designed to enhance my communication abilities, foster critical thinking skills, and instill an entrepreneurial mindset, all of which are valuable assets in professional settings.

One of the standout common units was Basic Life Support and Emergency Care. It provided me with a solid foundation in first aid, CPR, and other life-saving techniques, ensuring that I am prepared to respond effectively in emergency situations.

The foundational units covered key aspects of environmental health, including the foundations of environmental health, human anatomy and physiology, and biostatistics. I also gained practical skills and knowledge in environmental microbiology, laboratory methods for environmental health, and environmental chemistry. These areas are crucial for assessing and managing environmental risks and contaminants.

Advancing to higher-level units, I delved deeper into topics such as epidemiology, environmental biochemistry, meat pathology and inspection, community health principles, and solid waste management. These areas are vital for maintaining public health and environmental sustainability.
