THIKA ROAD CHRISITIAN SCHOOL.  

Practicing Teacher, August 2018 to November 2018,  

I joined the Thika Road Christian School as part of my internship requirements. I was  allocated to pre-primary 2 for the one term where I worked under the class teacher. My duties and responsibilities included; 

•Prepared and facilitated lesson plans for students and ensured educational level  appropriateness of lessons. 

•Assisted in marking, teaching and supervision of learners. 

•Helped with indoor and outdoor activities. 

•Encouraged social skills including manners, cooperation, conflict resolution, and  following directions. 

•Assisted children with self-help skills such as toilet training, dressing, and  personal hygiene. 

WOODCREEK SCHOOL

Assistant Teacher, 1st September

I joined  the WoodCreek school as an assistant where I worked under the lead teacher.

My duties and responsibilities were

• Reinforce learning in/outside classroom
• Provide specialized care as well as individual attention to the children
• Promote the care values of the school and support the Christian values which it espouses
• Supervised and assisted children with meals
• Plan,coordinate work and monitor the class schedule
• Ensured that the learning environment is safe and clean.
• Organize the classroom and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive learning environment
• Provide opportunities for both collaborative and independent learning

2017 – 2018 KCA University    

      Degree in Early Childhood Education (Second Class Honors, Upper Division).  ▪ Key areas of study included; Child development, Social psychology, Research in  Children and Family studies, Behavior disorders in children, Literature in early  childhood education, Rights of children and their welfare and Administration and  supervision of early childhood education.
