About Abigael Karanja :

I am an experienced early childhood educational instructor with a total working experience of about 1 year.In my experience of teaching practice, I always do my best to be helpful to the members of staff in the schools I have been posted.I am warm with children and friendly to staff and do well while interacting with children.Given an opportunity, I will work hard and learn what the school requires so as to give very good service

Experience

  1. ST. CHRISTOPHER’S INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL.
    I was on attachment from 26th APRIL 2022 to 27th MAY 2022.
    The duties assigned were;
    1. Developing lesson plans.
    2. Preparing instructional materials like manilla presentations.
    3. Translating lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction.
    4. Selecting and requesting books and instructional aids ; maintaining required inventory records.
    5. Providing individualized and small group instructions in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
    6. supervising students in in and out of class activities.
    7. Administering group standardized tests in accordance with school and national testing programs.
    Key skills learned;
    1. Competence in using basic student assessment skills.
    2. Practicing knowledge of professional, legal, and ethical issues involved in teaching practice.
    3. Demonstrating basic knowledge in the integration of learning theory and practice.
    2. KIOTA SCHOOL.
    I was on attachment from 30th MAY TO 29th JUNE 2022.
    The duties assigned were;
    1. Identifying student needs and cooperating with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
    2. Creating an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centres.
    3. Establishing and maintaining standards of students’ behavior is needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
    4. Evaluating students’ academic and social growth, keeping appropriate records, and preparing progress reports.
    Key skills learned;
    1. Creating an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays.
    2. Practicing knowledge of professional, legal, and ethical issues involved in teaching practise.
    3. participating in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
    4. Maintaining professional competence through in-service education activities provided by professional growth activities.
    3. NAIROBI JAFFERY ACADEMY.
    I was  on attachment 31st AUGUST 2022 to 11th OCTOBER 2022.
    Duties assigned;
    1. Selecting and requesting books and instructional aids required for teaching purposes.
    2. Creating an effective environment for learning through a functional and attractive display.
    3. preparing instructional materials like manilla presentations.
    4. Establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
    5. Developing and issuing educational content.
    6. supervising students’ classes to ensure all students are learning in a safe and productive environment.
    4.DARUL ARQAM INTEGRATED INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL.
    I was on attachment  in Darul Arqam integrated international school since the 12th of OCTOBER  to 9th DECEMBER 
    Duties assigned;
    1. Identifying students needs and cooperating with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve learning issues.
    2. Supervision students in in and out of class activities
    3. Preparing instructional materials to be used during the lesson.
    4. Developing and issuing educational content.
