    Position Overview:


    The Accountant will play a key role in managing the day-to-day financial activities of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes.

    This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other team members.


    Key Responsibilities:

    General Ledger Management:
    Maintain the general ledger system by recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.

    Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    Process accounts payable invoices, issue payments, and reconcile vendor statements. Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing customers, recording payments, and following up on overdue accounts.

    Financial Reporting:
    Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Provide analysis and explanations of variances to budget and prior periods.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:
    Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts by providing financial data and insights. Monitor budget performance and prepare reports to track actual vs. budgeted expenses.

    Financial Analysis:
    Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support decision-making, such as cost-benefit analysis, profitability analysis, and trend analysis.

    Tax Compliance:
    Assist with the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with all tax regulations. Work with external tax advisors and auditors as needed.

    Audit Support:
    Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and reconciliations as requested by auditors.

    Process Improvement:
    Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen internal controls.


    Qualifications:
    Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

    2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in [specific industry/sector].

    Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.

    Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles and regulations.

    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

    Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

    CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus.
