    Job Title:
    Enterprise Development Officer

    Remuneration:
    Ksh100,000 – 120,000


    Reports to:
    Impact Project Manager


    Contract type:
    Annual, performance-based, with a 6-month probation period


    Job Purpose:
    The role is to lead the program, taking charge of empowering economically disadvantaged parents from partner schools. The focus involves cultivating sustainable livelihoods and building resilience through micro-enterprises.

    The candidate will be pivotal in providing support through comprehensive enterprise development, training, business coaching, and the strategic allocation of seed capital.


    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct a comprehensive baseline assessment of targeted communities' economic status and resources.
    • Collaborate with community leaders to grasp local dynamics thoroughly.
    • Recruit parents from HPF partner schools interested in sustainable livelihoods, prioritizing those with the greatest need.
    • Perform market assessments to identify opportunities for participants' products or services.
    • Establish linkages with local markets and supply chains for sustainable income generation.
    • Develop and deliver detailed training on enterprise development, business planning, market research, and financial management.
    • Gradually disburse seed funds over three years, reducing support for thriving businesses.
    • Provide ongoing business coaching and mentorship based on financial performance analysis.
    • Facilitate savings group formation, guiding participants in setting financial goals.
    • Implement a robust monitoring system for tracking micro-enterprise performance.
    • Analyze monthly financial reports to assess program impact and identify areas for improvement.

    Qualifications:

    Education:
    A first degree in Enterprise development, Entrepreneurship, Business and Financial Management or any related discipline.

    Experience:
    A minimum of 3 years in community development, livelihoods, microfinance, and education.

    Expertise:
    Demonstrated experience in running a business venture.

    Technical Skills:
    Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.

    Soft Skills:
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
