    The Kilimani Children's Clinic opened its doors to the public in November Since then we have experienced a steady growth thanks to our dedicated team of consultant paediatricians, nurses and other health professionals.

    Summary
    Kilimani Children's Clinic is looking for a full-time on-site Resident Pediatrician to join our team in Nairobi County, Kenya. As a Resident Pediatrician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to our young patients.

    Your main clinical duties will be comprised of managing the general medical care of the patients, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, conducting physical exams, and interpreting diagnostic tests.


    Responsibilities:
    Provide comprehensive pediatric care to patients at Kilimani Children's Clinic.
    Attend to walk in and referred pediatric patients both out and inpatient.
    Accurate and clear documentation of patient history, physical examination, investigations and management.

    Counsel clients on treatment and compliance to treatment (patient and family) while ensuring their participation in decision making in their management.

    Carry out procedures (pediatric) while ensuring high quality of care/services and safety of patients
    Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of holistic care.
    Provision of superior diagnostic, preventative and interventional medical care
    Receive and resuscitate newborns in Theatre and Maternity
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.

    Provide clarity of investigations to be carried out and interpretation of the results and ensure update to the patients, next of kin and conduct family conferences on need basis.

    Examine and treat injuries and refer the little patients to physicians of other disciplines when necessary (e.g. surgeons, ophthalmologists, orthopedists etc.)
    Ensure use of all Hospital's automated systems, as appropriate, including the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS).
    Facilitate patient admissions, necessary consents and discharge
    Participate in continuous medical education and professional development activities
    Any other responsibility assigned by the supervisor in the delivery of care

    Qualifications

    A masters in Pediatrics' and Child Health from a recognized University.
    Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery from a recognized university.
    Proven experience working in hospital settings, particularly in the casualty ward and pediatric department.
    A Certificate of Registration from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
    A valid practicing license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
    Valid BLS, ACLS, EPALS and ETAT plus certification.
    Attention to detail.
    Extensive knowledge and expertise in pediatric medicine, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of pediatric conditions.
    Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
    Strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
    Team player and results oriented.
    Flexible to work within all branches of Kilimani children's clinic
