    Role Summary

    The Sustainability Manager is responsible for driving the brand & partners' sustainability strategy and projects with key focus on the partners' Brew a Better World (BaBW) commitments, aligned with its global Evergreen strategy, including Net Zero, Water efficiency, circularity, and balancing.



    Responsibilities

    ● Manage and oversee the implementation and awareness of the brand's sustainability agenda and projects across the business and support with the implementation of the BaBW strategy across different functions.

    ● Drive all related external and internal advocacy on the sustainability and BaBW strategy.

    ● Represent the brand on strategic partnership platforms including industry associations on sustainability and policy forums as aligned with the Corporate Affairs & Regulatory Affairs Director.

    ● Collaborate and represent the brand/partners on all related sustainability & BaBW partner forums, networks, to facilitate strategy implementation and best practice sharing.

    ● Position the company & its partner(s) as a key contributor of best practice and a thought leader on key sustainability topics i.e., renewable energy, carbon neutrality etc.

    ● Partner and align with the company's Management Team and the partners' stakeholders on the company's sustainability initiatives and targets.

    ● Lead and oversee implementation of community initiatives on recycling, responsible drinking and water stewardship.

    ● Work with the Corporate Affairs & Regulatory Affairs Director and partner colleagues to bring our BaBW stories to life for internal and external stakeholders with inspiring and impactful communications.

    ● Collaborate and align with Supply chain on environmental sustainability programmes, targets, and reporting.

    ● Being a focal point from CARA, work closely with Supply Chain (SC) and legal regarding new regulation update and/or amendment of environmental law/ regulations.

    ● Partner with HR, Procurement and Supply Chain on delivery of sustainability strategy and targets.

    ● Continuously partner and align internal stakeholders' sustainability strategy, targets, ways of working, and accountability matrix to deliver synergies for the company.

    ● Be the custodian of the BaBW ecosystem, governance, and reporting framework into the HB sustainability council.

    ● Drive all internal and external cross functional work on sustainability and BaBW strategy.

    ● Scan, lead and proactively manage all ESG related matters, beyond compliance for the company (e.g. EPR, PROs, circular economy, etc)

    ● Lead all capacity building needed on the environmental sustainability strategy and BaBW.

    ● Manage the budget for the portfolio.

    ● Provide strategic input and verified data for the annual sustainability report.

    ● Ensure compliance to track, monitor and report the progress on Brew a Better World initiatives.

    ● Amplify impact of sustainability programmes both internally and externally and ensure impact stories anchor the corporate brand key messages and communicate to stakeholders.

    ● Prepare reports for the Board on sustainability, social impact, and public interest commitments.



    Qualifications

    ● Bachelor degree in Social Sciences, Policy, Development, Business management, Engineering, Finance or equivalent

    ● Post Graduate degree in Social Sciences, Policy, Development, Business management, Engineering, Finance or equivalent will be an added advantage.

    ● At least 5 years proven track record in developing, driving, and implementing sustainability strategy in large corporations / FMCG.

    ● Business and value chain experience outside sustainability a bonus.

    ● Sound understanding of legislation relating to environmental sustainability and other sustainability related legislations.

    ● Knowledge in project management, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting

    ● Understand Kenya's social context.

    ● Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

    ● Strong analytical skills.

    ● Strategic/action orientation, self-driven and innovative.

    ● Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assess priorities effectively.
