    ABOUT THE COMPANY

    The Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ) also known as the Office of the Ombudsman is a Constitutional Commission established under Article and Chapter Fifteen of the Constitution, and the Commission on Administrative Justice Act, 2011. The Commission has a mandate, inter-alia, to investigate any conduct in state affairs or any act or omission in public administration in any sphere of Government and complaints of abuse of power, unfair treatment, manifest injustice or unlawful, oppressive, unfair or unresponsive official conduct.

    JOB SUMMARY

    Job SpecificationFor appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D or its equivalent;Valid Class BCE Driving License free from any endorsement;Occupational Trade Test Grade III for drivers;Passed Suitability Test for drivers;First Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBIT) or any other recognized institution;Certificate of good conduct;Must have 3 years related experience;Attended a refresher course for divers lasting not less than one (1) week within the last three (3) years at Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBIT) or any other recognised institution, andShown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Driving the vehicle as authorised;Detecting and reporting vehicle defects on time;Ensuring vehicle cleanliness;Ensuring routine service and maintenance of the vehicle;Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle, passengers and goods on and off the road;Maintaining daily work ticket;Carrying out routine checks on vehicle's cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems and tyre pressure;Timely reporting of accidents and follow up of police abstracts; andVehicle inspection and keeping up-to-date insurance documents.Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    Vehicle maintenance and repair, Bus driving (bus, minibus, coach), Driving license Class B, C, E - light vehicles & heavy commercial vehicles, Car driving, Delivery service (postal, newspaper, commercial), Traffic laws and regulations
