PCEA Chogoria Hospital was founded in 1922 by Scottish Missionaries. The ownership of the hospital was transferredPCEA Chogoria Hospital was founded in 1922 by Scottish Missionaries. The ownership of the hospital was transferredfrom the Church of Scotland to the Presbyterian Church of East Africa in 1956. From the hospital had majorredevelopment leading to a new hospital adjacent to the old hospital. The old hospital buildings were taken over by theClive Irvine College of Nursing which was started in 1951 and named in honor of the hospital founder Dr. Clive Irvine.
PCEA Chogoria Hospital is a not-for-profit faith based organization that provides quality health care services andtraining. It is registered under the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board Act Cap 253 rule 4 (3) and adheres tothe statutory regulations of the health sector regulatory bodies in discharging its mandate.
JOB SUMMARY
Qualifications & SkillsDiploma in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognized institutionRegistered with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologist Board (KMLTTB)Must have a valid Practicing LicenseAbility to perform in all areas of the laboratory including, but not limited, microbiology, hematology, parasitology, blood transfusion and biochemistryAbility to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers
RESPONSIBILITIES
To implement the Quality Management SystemEnsures that samples are registered in the Laboratory information system before processingTo perform daily Internal Quality controls and ensure they pass before analyzing patient samples.Performs root cause analysis on Quality control failuresPerform planned maintenances on equipmentPerforms inventory control as and when assigned by the head of sectionsTo analyze patient samples in accordance with documented technical proceduresTo report patient results in the Laboratory information systemTo verify patient results in Laboratory information system before they are released to cliniciansTo maintain confidentiality of patents information by not divulging passwords to anyone and not giving unauthorized people access to the laboratoryTo assist the safety officer to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and patients
