    Description

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial reporting

    o Preparation/oversight of monthly management accounts within group deadlines.

    o Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for investors and other stakeholders.

    o Assisting Finance Manager & MD with annual budget preparation process.

    o Assisting Finance Manager with preparation of earnings calls and board packs for
    management accounts.

    o Ownership of forecast numbers and variance reporting performance against
    budget.

    o Facilitation of annual audit including being primary contact with Auditors.

    o Review of balance sheet reconciliations and completion of period close.

    o Review and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure stronger
    internal controls.

    o Timely preparation and submission of returns to regulatory and statutory
    authorities.

    o Responsible for monthly reporting on revenues, receivables, operating lease
    assets, subsidy, deferred income and inventory.

    o Prepare regular reports to lenders.



    Tax compliance

    o Review tax declarations and ensure accuracy and prompt payment of tax liabilities
    including VAT and withholding tax.

    o Ensure consistent compliance with tax requirements and always maintain a valid
    tax compliance certificate.

    o Engage with tax consultants regarding changes in the business or the tax law of
    Kenya which are likely to impact the company

    External audits

    o Coordinate statutory audit process and preparation of statutory accounts.

    o Coordinate tax audits and handle communication with the Kenya Revenue
    Authority.

    Qualifications for the role


    • University degree Finance, Economics or Accounting or equivalent from a
    recognized institution.


    • CPA/ACCA/ CA or equivalent.


    • Working knowledge of IFRS


    • MUST have at least three (3) years' experience in a busy commercial environment


    • Proficient use of MS Excel and MS word


    • Experience using SQL queries.


    • Experience using ERP accounting software.


    • Excellent knowledge and understanding of contemporary financial principles
    and practices and reporting.


    • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
