About The Group

Uranga Poultry Farmers' Self Help Group is a combination of more than 10 agricultural producer groups with over 100 farmers promoting various agricultural value chains for markets in Uranga Siaya. The Group is seeking Agriculture students who are undertaking training in various disciplines from recognized agricultural training institutes and are ready to work and learn with them in supporting their various agricultural ventures in Poultry, crops and Dairy enterprises within Uranga in Siaya county. The students who should be on their final years of study and are set to go for industrial attachment are expected to live among the Uranga farmers and support their agricultural enterprises towards increased productivity and income for the member households and the group.

Desired Qualifications:

• Certificate or Diploma in agricultural Extension and Community development/ Certificate or Diploma in Agribusiness

• Good communication skills

• Community training skills

• good teamwork

Responsibilities.

• Support in marketing of the farm products

• Develop and keeping of farm records

• Maintain farm records both production and sales

• Construction and establishment of animal pane

• training of farmers in a group on various farming aspects
