JOB SUMMARY:

Kenya Red Cross Training Institute (KRCTI) is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Lecturer in Business Programs, common units and Counselling Coordinator.

This position involves teaching business-related programs and common units, as well as coordinating counselling services and mental health support for KRCTI stakeholders.

SCOPE OF THE ROLE:
Teach business-related programs and common units as assigned by the academic department.
Coordinate counseling and mental Health services for KRCTI stakeholders.
Develop and implement Mental health/counseling programs and initiatives to address the diverse needs of KRCTI stakeholders
Provide individual and group Mental health/counseling sessions

Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and external partners to promote mental health awareness and create a supportive environment conducive to learning and personal growth.

Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify mental health and psychosocial support needs
Coordinate referrals to external mental health professionals and agencies for specialized care

Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions on topics related to mental health, well-being, and resilience for Kenya Red Cross Training Institute stakeholders.

Maintain accurate records of mental health/counseling sessions, assessments, and referrals, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to ethical guidelines and professional standards.

Stay updated on current trends, research, and best practices in counseling, mental health, and psychosocial support to inform program development and service delivery.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, CPAK or its equivalent. Master's degree preferred.

Training and certification as a counselor from a recognized institution, with registration with the Counsellors and Psychologists Board of Kenya (CPBK).

5 years of professional/academic training experience
Previous experience in facilitating workshops/training sessions on first aid and other occupational safety programs

Experience in providing counseling/mental health services in educational or community settings, with a focus on mental health and psychosocial support.

Strong understanding of counseling theories, techniques, and ethical guidelines, with demonstrated skills in assessment, intervention, and case management
