Description
The company opened its first manufacturing facility in Mombasa, Kenya, in 1962, rapidly widening its reach to include further countries in East Africa, and then Southern Africa.
In 2003, all operating companies were reversed into the current holding company called Safal Investments Mauritius Limited and conduct its business across Africa as the Safal Group.
Today, the Safal Group manufactures in 10 African countries and sells and markets its building solutions across the continent.Responsibilities
Group Communications
Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees
Create core messages and materials to support those priorities, with regular editing and ghostwriting
Develop roll-out processes to ensure information consistently reaches staff at all levels, in all countries
Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organization
Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages
Plan, edit and write content for various internal communications mediums, such as a staff intranet (Yammer), monthly magazine or regular email bulletin.
Work the One Safal Magazine in collaboration with the internal team to ensure consistency of content, look and feelCoordinate with BU Marketing teams to ensure that activities/events are launched internally and messages aligned across the Group
Work with CSR teams to ensure activities are highlighted and published across the Group
Work closely with the IT department to secure digital solutions that enhance the employees' internal communications content experience
Staff Engagement and Feedback
Speak monthly with People leads and staff at all job levels to understand how key messages are landing
Creating engaging campaigns that continuously leverage the organisation's brand
Organisation Response in Challenging Situations
Requirements
Qualifications and experience requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in journalism, Public Relations, Communications or any related field
At least 5 years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience in communications in any sector.
High-quality written and verbal communication skills
Well-developed organisational skills
High level of computer literacy, advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook, High level of interpersonal and communication skills
High level of attention to detail
Ability to establish strong working relationships
Demonstrated ability to use initiative and judgement
Capacity to prioritise work & negotiate on conflicting timeframes
Knowledge of Internet/intranet and content management
