- Under the direct supervision of the Human Resource Manager, the HR Intern will support and assist the Human Resources Manager in the day-to-day management of HR functions at Habitat for Humanity Kenya National Offices.
- Provide support in recruitment processes, including advertisements, consolidating applications, interview invitations, coordinating the interview & selection process e.t.c
- Support in orientation and onboarding processes for new staff
- Assisting with staff welfare and issues as requested
- Assist in monitoring the expiry of staff contracts, end of probation and advise the HR Manager and Line Managers/supervisors on time.
- Assist in managing HR documentation, including employee records, contracts, policies generate regular HR data and reports such as leave utilization.
- Assist in conducting periodic personnel file audit, maintenance of up-to-date files for all staff and ensure that personal document for new and existing staff are maintained confidentially both electronically and physically.
- Assist in managing the training calendar and ensuring that trainings are on schedule.
- Assist in coordinating the staff separation processes.
- Support in employee engagement activities and events.
- Assist with benefits administration tasks, such as enrollment, claims changes, and inquiries.
- Assist in conducting research on HR best practices and contribute ideas for process improvements.
- Support any other HR initiatives and assignments as may be assigned by the supervisor.
- Timely filling of positions.
- Efficient & effective onboarding of new staff to ensure smooth integration.
- Efficient management of staff records/documentation
- Timely follow up on HR functions, reporting & feedback
- Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration with specialization in Human Resources and be a registered member of IHRM with good standing.
- Certified Human Resource Professional Course CHRP foundation level
- IT proficient proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of HR principles, best practices, and working knowledge employment laws.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of full-cycle recruiting.
- The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills.

- Possess a Certificate of good conduct
- Not more than 1-year prior work experience within a fast-paced HR environment with familiarity of human resources procedures and practices.
