    Job summary.


    The agribusiness development officer will develop, support and implement business and agriculture strategies that will increase market share and profits.

    His duties will include working alongside sales and marketing department to identify business opportunities to pursue and creating business proposal to support the areas of task.


    Requirements:

    • Have a minimum of three years of demonstrable work experience in agricultural and agribusiness investments, agribusiness advisory services, and supply chain management, linkage with private sector, agribusiness project development, appraisal and management.
    • A degree in agribusiness management from recognized university, or a combination of degree in business or marketing with agriculture economics, animal production and health, agriculture extension and education.
    • Ability to evaluate challenges at farm level and work to implement interventions to solve the challenges.
    • Experience with value chain analysis and developments, post-harvest management, and marketing system development especially for high value agri-products.
    • Value chain development, business development, and rural livelihood engagements.
    • Successful experience preparing and presenting detailed business/financial models in agriculture.
    • Advanced in management and organization skills.

    Roles and responsibilities:

    • Advice and develop strategies and policy related to sustainable agri-food value chain development including development of business models.
    • Provide technical expertise in areas of enhanced agricultural production, postharvest handling, storage and processing, marketing and business development.
    • Generate internal and external outputs in farm, also forecasting of harvest and data collected during market survey.
    • Developing and pitching farming ideas to investors, farmers and private-public agriculture partners in region.
    • Encouraging new and existing clients on improving business dynamics, secure opportunity cost in regards to farming margins of input against output.
    • Attend partnership meetings with government stakeholders, private stakeholders and non-profit making stake holders in identifying bets market niche for agricultural products.
