    Summary


    As a member of the SGS Global Procurement & Real Estate team, the Data Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the development and execution of procurement projects, Labs primarily, by providing insightful data analysis, helping in decision-making processes, and driving efficiency and effectiveness in procurement strategies.

    The Data Analyst will work primarily with the Global Procurement Project Director and the Regional Lab Category Managers on all assigned projects but also ultimately with the wider SGS Global Procurement and Real Estate organization.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Identify, collect, consolidate, and interpret detailed procurement and spend data from various sources for assigned projects.

    Validate data quality, taking necessary remedial actions if required, such as confirming data with countries or exploring alternative consolidation methods.

    Effectively communicate with countries and team members in a clear and concise manner regarding data validation processes.

    Be proactive in identifying and validating analysis methodology, leveraging advanced data analytics tools and software to enhance procurement processes and outcomes.

    Conduct market research to understand market trends, supplier landscapes, and procurement opportunities.
    Collaborate with category managers to support project management and development.
    Provide intelligence to identify potential opportunities on assigned projects using data-driven insights and recommendations.
    Create regular reports and presentations to inform management of trends, patterns, and predictions using statistical techniques.

    Secondary Responsibilities

    Create ongoing spend reports and analysis in close collaboration with the category managers.
    Support the negotiation process where applicable, providing insights, targets, and generic information.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Business, or a related field.
    Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in procurement or a related field.

    Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

    Proficiency in data analytics software (e.g., SQL, R, Python) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
    Knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems is a plus.
    Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global team environment.
    Ability to manage complex projects and multitask.
    Ability to work under pressure with shifting priorities, interacting, and adjusting to diverse countries.
    Full fluency in English; other languages will be a plus.
