    Reports to: Sales Manager

    Department: Wholesale

    Main Purpose of the job

    The role will be responsible for managing wholesale segment of the business with some key responsibilities including selling to existing customers, ensuring full product range is stocked, correct pricing, collections of outstanding payments, adherence to merchandising principle and developing new markets in the designated.



    Key Responsibilities of the role

  • Liaise with wholesale customers for orders, returns and payments.
  • Oversee the team of merchandisers on the ground to ensure they are doing proper merchandising for high visibility and good display of products in the assigned outlets.
  • Evaluate wholesale items/products and give recommendations to management on the movement of products e.g. slow moving and possible solutions.
  • Propose new products for wholesale.
  • Prepare reports on weekly activities for both self and merchandising team.
  • Visit wholesale customers periodically to maintain relations and monitor stock movement.
  • Plan upcountry visits for upcountry customers.
  • Supervision of sales merchandisers on the ground regarding assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for Business Development in GT sales in the assigned region.
  • Achieving volume and value targets on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly & yearly basis.
  • Tracking of stock levels in all customer outlets including expiries and short expiries and monitor the same with the help of the merchandisers.
  • Preparation and submission of weekly and monthly sales reports to give management a picture of the market scenario.
  • Locating potential sales leads through market research and signing on new wholesale customers.
  • Resolving customer complaints efficiently with the aim of ensuring the issue is resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Ensuring all clients are given good customer service and a good PR is maintained with all persons in charge in the outlets.
  • Introduction of new products to existing clients ensuring clients sell the complete range of our products.
  • Plan & implement distribution for market coverage.
  • In-depth distribution drive for geographical expansion.
  • Tracking and analysing competition.
  • Marketing initiatives to promote sales (promotions, exhibitions etc.)
  • Advising customers about delivery schedules, stock levels and delays if any
  • Recording orders for clients and handing them to the office for processing

    Knowledge, Skills, and abilities

  • At least five (5) years' experience in similar position
  • Minimum of a Diploma in Sales and Marketing from a recognized and reputable institution.
  • Critical thinker with a flair for detail.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal skills, socially perceptive with good diplomacy in engaging other people.
  • Active learner, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate about sales and numbers.
