Roles and Responsibilities:
Talent Leadership, Strategy, & Culture
Collaborate with, and advise the BasiGo Executive and leadership team to inform key strategic talent issues such as building culture, DEI, organizational design, and performance management
Create a culture where feedback, open and honest communication, honesty, integrity, health & safety, and ethics is expected and rewarded
Continuously work to create a work environment that the team loves to be a part of, and undertake initiatives to ensure we build a culture that authentically resonates throughout BasiGo
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
Support the organization to attract the best talent looking to work in e-mobility in E.Africa by developing and managing hiring tools and SOPs, crafting JDs, screening candidates, and working with recruiters
Manage new employee contracting and onboarding processes to ensure each new employee is set up for success.
Performance Management, Learning, and Development
Support the BasiGo leadership team and managers to manage employee performance by managing tools and processes to track OKRs, and conduct regular performance reviews
Design and schedule training programs to ensure all BasiGo employees are trained on any relevant policies and best practices
Working with the BasiGo leadership team, identify scalable opportunities to support employees to gain work relevant skills, and grow in their careers via (in house and external) training, and mentorship.
Human Resources Admin & ManagementBuild scalable, nimble, and team-forward people operations (HRIS, payroll, contracting, onboarding, offboarding, disciplinary issues, employee issues and emergencies)
Policy and process design, communication, implementation and iteration - design and iterate on team policies that keep us nimble and that support the team to thrive, while also adhering to relevant labor laws, OSH requirements, legislation and international best practice
Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, bonus units and other perks.
Our ideal candidate would have:
Required Experience & Qualifications
Relevant certifications and memberships including CHRP, SHRM etc.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Social sciences, or related discipline (a Master's degree) is an added advantage.
5+ years of experience in a Human Resource function. Ideally at a fast growing, high performing company.
High degree of understanding with the Kenyan labor and employment act(s)
