    Reporting to: Manager Special Projects

    Business Unit: Technology – Enterprise Technical Support (ETS)

    Role Purpose:

    We are seeking a dynamic, self-driven and skilled Fiber Optics installation and maintenance Engineers with a performance record and excellent work ethic. He/ She must have broad and deep knowledge base in all aspects of fiber optic installation, maintenance and repair. Flexible scheduling availability to include weekends and emergency situations as required.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities


    • Troubleshoot and diagnose fiber optic faults for all enterprise customers


    • Evaluates, tests, and repairs old or malfunctioning fiber cables along with scheduled preventive routine maintenance.


    • Troubleshoot and maintain all fiber optic cables for network equipment


    • Locate fiber cut, splice and repair fiber optic cable in problem areas


    • Generate sensor indicators and execute inspections ensuring the fiber optic systems do not contain faults that could destabilize its performance.


    • Performs premises cabling and runs fiber optic cables underground and in-building solution.


    • Survey for new fiber installation as per SLA


    • Preparing BOQs and Bill of materials for new fiber installation.


    • Set up and splice new fiber installation for new service Provision.


    • Set up and splice new fiber installation for network equipment


    • Preparing and maintaining fiber installation records, diagrams and Asbuilt

    Academic background & Professional Knowledge:


    • Degree in Telecommunications Engineering/ Electrical or Electronic Engineering or Equivalent from a recognized institution.


    • CFOT: (Certified Fiber Optics Technician) certification verifies that you have an overall knowledge of fiber optics systems used for any condition.

    Or


    • CPCT: (Certified Premises Cabling Technician) requires skills in the installation of fiber, copper, and wireless in a campus environment or within the organization's building network. Such certification is recommended for

    professionals working on enterprise networks (e.g., LAN) to ensure intact security management system.

    Or


    • CFOS: (Certified Fiber Optics Specialist): This certification contains two subtypes: skills-based (dealing with installation and testing of fiber optics cable) and application based- (dealing with a specific application of fiber optic cabling).

    Here Are The Skills We Are Looking For:


    • Minimum 3 years' experience, preferably in telecommunications, Optic fiber networks.


    • Very good knowledge and understanding of telecom industry and related legislation.


    • Ability to Reading and interpreting technical diagrams and schematics


    • Diplomatic and able to deal with VIPs And senior Security Officers.


    • Excellent organization, communication skills and ability to work independently


    • Excellent problem-solving skills


    • Ability to work with precision


    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
